The costs to you are ZERO! Whether you book directly with a lodge or if you book that same lodge through Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures, the cost will be exactly the same! Yellow Dog is paid commissions by the lodge on the back end of the transaction, so there is never an upcharge, surcharge, or additional fee for using our services! The biggest difference is that when you book with Yellow Dog, you receive in-depth pre-trip planning materials, technical support, applicable hands-on experience, help selecting the right guide(s) and much more – all for the exact same cost as booking direct!

Can Yellow Dog handle my airfare and all my travel details?

Absolutely! If you are interested in having us arrange your travel details and handle your airline reservations, we will be happy to do so.

How well does the Yellow Dog staff know each destination?

Simple. We DO NOT sell a destination if we do not know it well. We have been to every destination that we sell, we know each operation inside and out, and chances are that we revisit each destination on a regular and ongoing basis.

Should I purchase Travel Insurance on my fishing package?

At Yellow Dog Flyfishing, L.L.C., we strongly recommend that our clients purchase basic trip cancellation protection for ALL angling packages and vacations. While the fact is that most destination anglers will never need travel insurance, the reality is that every once in awhile, someone will. And- if you’re the one who needs it, you will feel like it is one of the best investments you ever made! Complete trip coverage on a week-long saltwater trip for a customer between the age of 35 and 59 will cost somewhere between $100.00 and $200.00. If you have just paid $3000.00+ for a trip, this is well worth the price. Once you purchase this policy, you will be covered on everything from trip cancellation due to jury duty all the way to a trip cut short by a tropical hurricane. This policy covers almost everything you can imagine!

What is the seasonal weather and climate like in Yellow Dog’s various destinations?

Great questions! If we could answer that with any certainty, we’d be the most effective fishermen on earth! To help with your trip planning, we have found a website that will show historical weather data, rainfall, average temperatures, etc. It won’t predict weather for the future, but it does show weather patterns for the past 100+ years for just about every country and destination that we offer! Do you have destinations ideally suited for couples or family trips?

Do we ever! We pride ourselves on the numerous destinations that we offer that are ideal for both couples and families. All of these select destinations have been chosen for our “list” because they can meet the expectations of the serious sport fishermen while at the same time satisfying the vacation wishes of non-fishing spouses, family members, or significant others. What is the quality of available medical service?

This will vary depending on where in the world you are traveling to. We ask that you advise us of any special health needs that you have. All special medications should be brought with you, and Yellow Dog should be notified of any medical conditions that exist.

How should I handle tips and gratuities?

For each destination that we work with, we have written and compiled an in-depth Pre-Trip Planning Packet that includes all of this information. Since the suggested amount of gratuities will vary depending on where you are fishing, please refer to this section in you pre-trip planning documents.

What if I am a solo angler looking to join a group or partner with another angler?

First off, we offer a number of hosted trips throughout the course of the year. These trips- both freshwater and saltwater- are always lead by a Yellow Dog staffer who has experience in- and knows well- that applicable destination. Contact Yellow Dog at any time for more information on our scheduled hosted trips. If you are a solo angler looking to avoid single-supplement charges by pairing with another angler, please feel free to give us a call. While it can be difficult to make this happen, we are always willing to try, and we do keep a running list of other “solo” anglers!
