THE FISHING
By being the first sportfishing lodge in the area, Kulik was able to pick the cream-of-the-crop concerning the location for truly exceptional fishing. Not only does the lodge sit on the banks of a river sought after by most other lodges in Alaska, Kulik is less than 15 minutes flying time away from the true heart of trophy rainbow fishing. With their superb aircraft, experienced Alaskan pilots, and professional guides, Kulik not only ensures your safety but also provides fishing that is out of this world. Enjoy the great fishing near the lodge, or opt for daily fly-outs that will give you access to other hot spots within a 100 mile radius of the lodge. This is a great way to take advantage of the large variety of species of fish available throughout southwest Alaska: rainbow trout, arctic char, arctic grayling, lake trout, northern pike, and all five species of Pacific salmon. In conjunction with their fly-out options, Kulik has river boats cached at various productive rivers and streams - some accessible only through the lodge’s private permits. Other daily fishing options include raft float trips and walk/wade trips to remote streams. As an added bonus, the prime location on the Kulik River means that there is evening fishing available after dinner for additional hours on the water, light conditions permitting. If you are a fish-until-you-drop angler, this is a great scenario for your next Alaska trip!
BOATS AND EQUIPMENT OFFERED
Lodge aircraft includes two Cessna 207’s equipped with turbine engines, one Cessna 206, one DeHavilland Beaver, and one DeHavilland Otter – all of which are on floats. A Navajo Chieftain on wheels provides round trip transportation from Anchorage directly to the lodge.
THE LODGING
The main lodge is constructed of local native spruce and boasts a large common room with a stone fireplace, surrounding couches for lounging, a main dining area, and a full complimentary bar with cocktails, wine and beer. Guest cabins facing Nonvianuk Lake are equipped with large space heaters, showers, private bathrooms, and a wader hanging/drying area. Most of the time spent in your cabin will be sleep time, as the majority of time spent at Kulik lodge will be fishing on the water!
