THE FISHING
Being located in the greater Iliamna region, No See Um concentrates primarily on trophy rainbow trout, along with artic char, dolly varden, and grayling. All five species of Pacific salmon are available, depending on the time of year. The fishing at No See Um Lodge changes almost daily. The small number of clients (ten per week) allows for a different fishing experience every day. Jack and the pilot/guides will give you the best options nightly so you can decide what you would like to experience during your fishing the next day. Daily options are dependent upon weather, water conditions, time of year, and physical factors. The guest-to-guide ratio is never more than 2-to-1, so you can be assured that no matter what your needs are, No See Um can and will accommodate them. With two DeHavilland beavers, a Cessna 206 (all on floats,) and numerous aluminum jet boats, No See Um has no trouble getting you to the fish. An extremely beneficial part of each day is that the lodge planes do not leave your side while you are fishing. This ensures safety and better fishing by providing the option of a quick and easy relocation if needed. Also, with the lodge being located directly on the banks of the Kvichak River, there are no missed days due to weather. The lodge is just 30 miles down from the mouth of the Kvichak, which drains Lake Iliamna. The lake is the second largest freshwater lake in the U.S. – covering over 1000 square miles – and holds the world’s largest wild rainbow trout. Whether you're a veteran fly fisherman or a beginner, No See Um is the perfect Alaska trip for you!
BOATS AND EQUIPMENT OFFERED
Two DeHavilland Beavers and a Cessna 206 (all on floats,) and aluminum boats equipped with Yamaha jet motors. For accessing the trout regions of the Kvichak, the lodge has three 22-foot inboard jet sleds equipped with heaters for your comfort.

HOW TO GET THERE
Your trip starts upon arrival at King Salmon, Alaska. From King Salmon the lodge aircraft will meet and transfer you to the lodge. Several major airlines serve Alaska from the lower 48 with connections from Anchorage. Once arriving into King Salmon, the boat for the lodge will depart between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. If there is a major part of the group ready to go then they will leave earlier. Departure the following Monday will have you leaving the lodge about 8:00 AM. Currently Penn Air has very few options for afternoon flights but that always changes when the summer schedule comes out in January.
It is recommended by No See Um that guests overnight in Anchorage the day before your trip begins and connect to King Salmon the following morning. Connections can be made through Alaska airlines and Peninsula Airways. Arrival times in King Salmon need to be before 12:00 P.M.
For 2010, No See Um Lodge is changing their times and details for arrival day into King Salmon. No See Um Lodge is changing the long standing "noon" pick-up in King Salmon on Monday. Many people will undoubtedly miss this afternoon boat ride and few hours of fishing but here are the reasons that the lodge has decided to make this change.
1) The lodge staff really doesn't have enough time to do a proper “change over” in a few hours and the pilots typically don’t have enough time to get business done in King Salmon i.e.- groceries, mail, flying freight.
2) More often then not, the flights into King Salmon are screwed up resulting in delays that don't allow for any fishing, especially after the 45 minute boat ride to the braids.
3) Many people that take the boat ride all the way to the braids fish for only 2 hours, resulting in an unproductive day, then they wrongly assume that the Kvichak isn't fishing and won't try it again for a full day.
4) By changing the arrival time many people can fly in one day, eliminating the need for overnight in Anchorage. People that do overnight can have a leisurely morning in Anchorage and fly out to King Salmon early afternoon.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
