We can tell you from personal experience that this is one of the most incredible, unique, one-of-a-kind fishing trips in existence. We are proud to partner with and represent Tsimane’s numerous locations and jungle fisheries, offering anglers the world’s finest Golden Dorado fishing in small, intimate jungle waters. The Golden Dorado as a species is powerful, beautiful and totally indigenous to this region. It is a voracious fish that can be targeted and caught on the fly all throughout Tsimane’s area of operations. The rivers found throughout this area are inhabited by two different types of Dorado, the Amazon pacu, and the yatorana (pound for pound, among the strongest fresh-water species in all of South America). The remote nature of the fishing in this area, the exotic wildlife, and the overwhelming beauty of the region all combine to create an incredible angling and a travel experience that is without a doubt one of the most interesting and unique in the world of destination fly fishing.
Beginning in 2015, Tsimane completely restructured their lodge and out-camp packages, giving anglers a choice between the Pluma/Itirizama program and the Secure/Aguas Negras program. Both are offered as standard weekly packages of seven nights with six days of fishing, and in both locations, Dorado and the other jungle species are plentiful. It should be noted that being able to shoot 40 to 60 feet of line, minimize false casts, and deliver a large fly in an accurate and delicate manner is a huge advantage when fishing this area. Overall, Tsimane offers what many consider to be the finest aspects of fly fishing: sight casting, freestone wading, light tackle, floating lines and huge, aggressive fish.
