DIRECT SERVICE TO KAMCHATKA, RUSSIA FROM ANCHORAGE, ALASKA
We are happy to announce that for the 2008 summer season Vladivostok Airlines will provide direct flight service from Anchorage, Alaska to Petropavlovsk, Russia. Once again anglers will be able to enjoy quick and easy access to some of the best Rainbow Trout fishing on the entire planet! In the recent past there have been airlines that have said they will service the route between Anchorage and Petropavlovsk and back out at the last minute. Be rest assured that Vladivostok Airlines is 100% committed to a firm schedule for the entire 2008 season. The airline has always flown a route from Japan and Russia to Petropavlovsk and for the 2008 summer they have decided to take the route to another level by including Anchorage in the round trip flight. There has not been another airline in the history of fishing Kamchatka that has taken this position and provided this much security for Kamchatkan anglers. This will be the year to fish Kamchatka with Yellow Dog Flyfishing either with a new fly out program, Robert Boyce's hosted trip on the Ozernaya or any proven, legendary Kamchatkan river.

YELLOW DOG NAMED AS EXCLUSIVE AGENT FOR BANG-BANG CLUB
We are very pleased to announce that Yellow Dog Flyfishing has been chosen to be the exclusive booking agent for Andros Island's historic Bang Bang Club. Charlie Smith (the inventor of the Crazy Charlie fly and the “Godfather” of bonefishing on Andros) and his son Eddie have restored and expanded the club’s facilities, and they have recently "re-opened" for business. First built in the 1950's, the Bang Bang Club is smack dab in the middle of Andros Island’s North Bight, equidistant from the east and west coasts. This means you have unlimited options for fishing either coast, the three bights, inland lagoons and lakes, and flats that are too far for other lodges to access during a normal day of fishing. To learn more about the Bang Bang, visit the all new web page on the Yellow Dog website or call for more information.

FLY FISHING PETITION FOR ALASKA'S BRISTOL BAY NOW ON-LINE
Sportsmen and anglers who are concerned about the threat to Alaska's Bristol Bay and the area's fishery can now go on-line to read more about the issue and sign a petition to stop this project. Individual anglers such as yourself are can contribute to the campaign to keep Bristol Bay from being developed into a massive mining district, anchored by the proposed Pebble Mine project located north and east of Lake Iliamna. A major strength of this campaign is the diversity of individuals and groups standing up and stating “No Mines in Bristol Bay.” Things you can do to help:

1) Encourage all of your fishing friends and fellow club members to sign the Fly Fishing Petition for Bristol Bay online.  http://www.sportsmansalliance4ak.org/FlyFishingPetition_BristolBay.html

2) Visit www.tu.org/bristolbay and click on the “New Project” to learn about Red Gold: The Southwest Alaska Salmon Treasure. The award-winning fly fishing filmmakers at FeltSoul Media are spending two months in Alaska this summer to produce a documentary on Bristol Bay’s world renowned fisheries and pristine waters, focusing on the mining development that threatens these critical resources. This project needs your support!

3) Visit www.sportsmansalliance4ak.org to learn more about the threat to Bristol Bay. You can view the AFFTA industry support ad that has run in most of the major fly fishing publications under the “Latest News” tab, and you can join the Sportsman’s Alliance for Alaska by clicking the “Join Us” tab. There is no cost to join, however you will be kept up to date on Alaska issues of importance to sportspersons. Presently, the Sportsman’s Alliance for Alaska is working on the Bristol Bay campaign and the efforts to protect the remaining highly productive watersheds of the Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska.

A THANK YOU TO OUR ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY
Yellow Dog is a very proud supporter of the men and women who wear the uniform of our country. As some of us here at Yellow Dog have served in the military ourselves, we believe in supporting our troops however and whenever we can. Over the past two years, we have set up a number of trips for servicemen to lodges throughout the world. Recently, we sent an active duty Ranger to Casa Blanca Lodge, where owner Bobby Settles was generous enough to donate a large portion of the trip. "You have to appreciate what these men and women are doing for us," says Settles. "Casa Blanca is proud to help in any way that we can." Thank you Bobby, and thank you to the other lodges and outfitters that have contributed to this program. More importantly, thank you to all who currently serve and all who have served in the past.
