Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures is excited to announce that Simon Chu, an angler with an extensive fishing resume that spans the world guiding and traveling, has joined the Yellow Dog team as the new program manager for the Cook Islands and Australia. He will manage existing programs as well as bring new programs, particularly in Australia, into Yellow Dog’s lodge offerings.
Originally from New Zealand, Chu has fished all over the South Pacific from New Zealand trout and kingfish to Christmas and Cook Island Giant Trevally and bones, and many locations in between. As a sponsored angler and accomplished fly tier, Chu brings an expert level of professionalism and skill to the Yellow Dog team.
Simon has been around the fly fishing industry for over 30 years falling in love with the sport roughly at the age of 18. Fly fishing has always been the common thread running throughout Simon’s life and runs in tandem to his love of teaching and connecting with students and individuals- if that’s on the river or on a saltwater flat, all the better.
“I am beyond excited to be part of the Yellow Dog team. The level of professionalism and breadth of knowledge in the office is unfathomable- these guys and gals live and breathe fly fishing and I’m excited to a part of that.”
