This area of southern Argentina is famous for being home to Lago Strobel, a massive piece of water that is more commonly known as Jurassic Lake. Over the past ten years, Jurassic Lake has earned its reputation as the world’s best and most consistent trophy rainbow trout fishery on the planet – home to rainbows that routinely meet and exceed the 20-pound mark.
Yellow Dog works with both lodges at the lake – Jurassic Lake Lodge and Estancia Laguna Verde – and the following are the remaining dates available for the 2019/2020 season.
Jurassic Lake Lodge also offers up private access to Jurassic Lake and the Barrancoso River, but also features Moro Creek. This creek offers more than 10 miles of river between lagoons that produce rainbows in the 4 – 6-pound range. Chase trophy rainbows in Lago Strobel or poke and prod the different pools that make up the Barrancoso and Moro Creek. In all cases, anglers will be impressed by the large fish and astounding waters. Add to the outstanding fishing possibilities guests enjoy a round trip charter flight directly to the lake.

Estancia Laguna Verde offers extraordinary fishing and fantastic moving water action at the Lodge’s privately-controlled Barrancoso River. If not on the Barrancoso River, much of the fishing takes place on Lake Strobel (Jurassic Lake) itself, with private access to more than 10 kilometers of coastline along the lake. Monster Bay, one of the best fishing areas of the lake, owes its name to the unbelievable quantity and size of the fish caught there.
