BAHAMAS BONEFISHING LEGISLATION - AN UPDATE

May 03, 23

BAHAMAS BONEFISHING LEGISLATION UPDATE Bahamas Fishing Regulations

Here at Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures, we continue to receive a lot of calls, emails and questions about what exactly is happening in the Bahamas. While nothing radical has developed over the past few weeks, more and more people are weighing in on the actions of BFFIA and their leadership, proposals from AFFGA and the specifics of the legislation that has created so much controversy.

If you’re interested in reading more about the overall issues, check out Beau Beasley’s very detailed article that was recently posted on MidCurrent. He published “Part 1” earlier this month, and “Part 2” should be on-line soon. And while the article itself is definitely worth reading, do yourself a favor and read the long chain of comments that follow.

Stephen Vletas - who we consider to be one of the most knowledgeable people in the industry when it comes to bonefishing in the Bahamas and the history of the bonefishing industry in the Bahamas - has posted GREAT comments. Definitely worth a read!
