What: Over the course of a full week, this combination fishing itinerary offered by our friends at El Encuentro Fly Fishing includes stays at two different and strategically located destinations that allow anglers access and opportunity to fish an incredible diversity of trout waters in central Argentine Patagonia. Guests will split their fishing week with stays at El Encuentro’s namesake, El Encuentro Lodge, and their remote Brook Trout Basecamp.
Nestled on the banks of the mighty Rio Futaleufu, El Encuentro Lodge serves as the base of operations for El Encuentro Fly Fishing programs. This comfortable and classic lodge is steeped in tradition and combines genuine Argentine hospitality with opportunities to wade and float fish the Futaleufu, Nant y Fall, Arrayanes and Corinto Rivers and a variety of private access small streams and lakes for brown and rainbow trout. Mid-week guests will transfer to El Encuentro’s nearby Brook Trout Basecamp, a luxury safari-style tent camp, located on the banks of the Rio Corcovado. From here anglers have convenient wade and float fishing access to both the Corcovado and Tigre river systems, which arguably hold some of the most pristine population of brook trout in all Patagonia.
