Where: Martin Pescador Pescador Lodge. Los Lagos Region, Chile

Why: The Los Lagos Region of northern Chilean Patagonia is home to rugged tracts of untouched, mountainous wilderness, disjointed by blue-green fjords, steep glacially-carved valleys, and swaths of thick and temperate rainforest…and home to plenty of rainbow and brown trout, with occasional salmon and sea-run brown trout. Consistent dry fly attractor fishing is the name of the game on the majority of the area’s crystal-clear waters. Over the course of a trip, anglers can expect to catch good numbers of strong trout in the 12- to 20-inch range, with plenty of shots at fish exceeding 20 inches. Non-anglers will enjoy hiking, horseback riding, and hot springs.

The Los Lagos Region, and Martin Pescador Lodge, offer diverse and exciting fishing experiences set amidst a dramatic backdrop of rugged and unspoiled mountainous terrain.
