When your talking about firsts in saltwater fly angling the elusive Permit ranks as the premier pinnacle objective and rightfully so. Our great Yellow Dog client, Dave, sent us in a few images of his buddy Scott with his first permit with guide Thomas at the Grand Slam Lodge in the Yucatan.
Located in Ascension Bay the small fishing village of Punta Allen, Mexico is home to the Grand Slam Lodge. It’s one of the nicest full-service fishing lodges in the entire area. The lodge is a perfect “base camp” for anglers looking to sight cast to permit, bonefish, tarpon, and snook and provides anglers immediate access to the incredible fishing in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere.
