YELLOW DOG TEAM IN BELIZE
In the Yellow Dog office here in Bozeman, we’re firm believers in not just talking the talk, but also walking the talk. We fish hard, we travel hard, and we enjoy sharing those experiences for you. This week, four of our team members are on a ladies trip in Belize, doing just that. If you’ve called the office or booked a trip with us, odds are you’ve talked with Brenda, Jen, Kimberly, or Cari. These four ladies are essential to the day-to-day in the office — Brenda is a Program Director Assistant and Itinerary Specialist; Jen is an all-around office pro and Admin Support Specialist for the Bahamas, U.S., Mexico, and Canada; Kimberly is our Travel Coordinator and Insurance Specialist; and Cari manages the bookkeeping.
These four are off on an all-time adventure; staying and fishing at three different operations around Belize — first Blue Horizon Fly Fishing, then Copal Tree, and finishing off at Turneffe Flats. We’ll have a more in-depth trip report once they’re back and debrief, but for now here are a few thoughts from the field:
From Kimberly: “We’ve had an opportunity of a life time to not only fish with exceptional guides but to spend time with some of the best local characters who are passionate and interested in teaching others and sharing with them about the diverse flora, fauna, and fishing found in Belize. Who knew a conch grew and lived in its shell its whole life, that eagle rays won’t kill you, the exhilaration of tailing bonefish, the freaky coolness of a permit, and just how much one can get excited and geek out when you spend time with those that live, breath and LOVE every minute of what they do?
From Jen: “Belize has been absolutely amazing! It’s the most colorful place I’ve ever been- landscape, wildlife & people! I keep catching myself just gaping at the crazy amount of beauty I’m surrounded by everyday and cant believe the diversity we’ve experienced! From fishing the flats way out by the reef to jungle River fishing, it’s all been spectacular!”
