With that in mind, we wanted to provide a quick update on Belize Permit Club. BPC, as we refer to it around the office, is our newest addition to the lineup of offerings throughout the diverse country of Belize. BPC isn’t for everyone — it is a destination for the hardcore permit angler. The operation and guides are about one thing and one thing only, PERMIT. This operation isn’t about scented soaps, high thread count sheets, and white-glove service. It is about providing comfortable accommodations in a prime location to access one of the most productive permit fisheries throughout Belize which — as a country — is arguably the permit capital of the world. We are not surprised to hear from our anglers traveling to Belize Permit Club that Wil Flack and his crew have been exceeding expectations in its first year of operation. “It was great to meet both Wil and Michael. Both were excellent guides and we had a great time on the water with them, despite the tough weather. Both were patient, and great at explaining things. Michael was quiet and laid back, while Wil was wonderfully intense (in a good way). Both had serious boat control and boat handling skills, and great vision for spotting permit. Being Canadian, Wil kept trying to play Celine Dion for us on the boat which was a little weird, but it was his boat, so we weren’t going to question him (just kidding – no one was harmed with the playing of Celine Dion on the trip). We had a great week, even with the tough weather and conditions. Wil’s passion for his new venture with BPC was evident throughout the week and it was a true pleasure to experience! The hospitality extended by he and his team made for a wonderful holiday, and the lodge’s small / intimate setting and permit focused fishing program was exactly what we were looking for.
