What: The only spot left in Yellow Dog’s Hosted Sailfish School. Sailfish in this area of Guatemala are abundant year-round, and since 1994, the fleet has averaged more than 20 billfish raised per day, per boat, year-round; but for pure volume of 80 to 100-pound fish, December can be fantastic.

Join Captain Jake Jordan, world-famous Key’s tarpon guide and world-renowned big game fly angler along with Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventure’s Bluewater Program Director, Kristen Tripp for Jake’s Sailfish School. Jake will personally instruct students in the art of catching sailfish on fly and these techniques can easily convey to other billfish species such as marlin.
Based out of the first-rate fishing lodge, Casa Vieja in Guatemala, this school will cover tackle, rigging and proper technique for catching billfish on the fly.
When: December 8 – 12, 2019
Where: Casa Vieja, Guatemala
Why: Jake has taught billfish schools for many years and has a very high success rate with his proven techniques. This is your opportunity to learn while staying at perhaps the most famous lodge in the entire world of bluewater sportfishing, Casa Vieja Lodge. The lodge is known for world-class boats and crews, the best captains in the business, and some of the highest quality accommodations found anywhere in Central America. Casa Vieja is located less than a mile from the entrance to Marina Pez Vela, and after a long and productive day on the water, you can be back in the Casa Vieja’s pool in under five minutes.
