On August 28th, Belizean Prime Minister Dean Barrow announced that Phillip Goldson International Airport will reopen on October 1, 2020. American Airlines will offer flights five days a week and United Airlines is currently working through an exact schedule but expected to offer multiple flights per week. Delta Airlines is currently planning to resume flights to Belize in late November 2020 at this time. This is a significantly higher volume of flights than anticipated and will once again, make Belize a straightforward option for many anglers.
This new plan will be primarily focused around the use of Abbott rapid test which will allow American citizens to test on arrival or at home before traveling. All details regarding testing will be polished before the reopening date to lay out an exact plan for Yellow Dog anglers for easy travel, to and from Belize.
