ROBERT'S GROVE RESORT PLACENCIA, BELIZE | CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

From long-time Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures client John Heritage, who recently returned from a visit to Placencia, Belize and a stay a Robert's Grove Resort. While there, they fished with Captain Eworth Garbutt, one of the best permit guides in all of Belize.

Here are some post-trip comments that we recently received from John:
"I just wanted to drop you a line and say thank you for all of your help with our vacation to Placencia. It was our third trip to Belize and by far our favorite. The resort and room were perfect. The perfect balance of sun and relaxation mixed with fishing and adventure. Speaking of fishing, Eworth was amazing. What a class-act and truly talented fishing guide.

Everything was positive and up-beat and his admiration for the fish was infectious. He was patient and thorough. He stuck it out with me over 2 days and we finally cashed in and caught my first Permit on the fly. I've heard stories of guys who catch their first Permit on an errant 30' cast, but unfortunately, that has never been me! I've had way too many close encounters to count, including a handful of 30-40# class fish that engaged and pursued all the way back to the boat before flipping me the bird. Heartbreaking. But ... we eventually got it done the hard way and earned my first!

Also caught some bones and jumped a couple tarpon. After we caught my permit, Eworth asked, 'So ... do you feel different?' I replied, 'Actually ... I kinda do...’ Laughing, he said 'It's worse, isn't it?' Yes. It is worse. I am already thinking about going back for another shot at one of those big boys on the reef. Thanks again for a great trip. We'll be in touch when we starting planning our next trip."
