As we move into the new year, we are thrilled to have added six new programs in addition to our recent regional expansions into Spain and Ireland. Each of these destinations offers its own unique and distinguished fishery and there is something for everyone. Unpressured Wyoming cutthroat, Icelandic sea-run brown trout, Carribean permit, Patagonian dry-fly sippers, and Bolivian heli-fishing… Additions we are all excited to share.
Perfect for adventurous anglers who love to wade fish, Wood River Ranch is a private and remote operation in the wilds of Wyoming. With miles of private access to the Wood River and the opportunity to access various area tributaries via horseback, anglers will have endless opportunities for catching native and wild Yellowstone Cutthroat on dry flies. In addition to isolated private, well-rested waters that see very little pressure over the course of a season, guests will also enjoy comfortable single occupancy accommodations, fine dining, an impressive main lodge building with a full bar, and stunning views of the Wood River Valley right outside your door. We highly recommend this option for small and intact groups of friends or family looking to have a fishery all to themselves.
All new for 2024, Tsimane will merge two of its programs to create a totally unique and exploratory fishing package. With the introduction of the Lodge Heli Fishing Program, the lodge’s guides and guests can access the most remote, productive, and unpressured waters in Bolivia for golden dorado, pacú, and yatorana. Anglers traveling to the new Pluma/Secure program will enjoy single occupancy accommodations split between the two lodges over the course of the week. The primary goal of the new venture is to expose anglers to waterways rarely seen by humans while showcasing as much of the region as possible in a single week.
The Palometa Club, the self-declared “#1 Permit Lodge in the World,” is located in the heart of Ascension Bay. The lodge has specialized in targeting saltwater angling’s top prize for over a decade, with over 2000 permit to hand. The guides utilize a 1:1 guide-to-client ratio, allowing for more eyes on the water and plenty of guidance while pursuing schools of permit. In addition, the lodge’s guides are seasoned veterans for targeting the other species of Ascension bay, boasting dozens of grand slams each year. In 2022, the lodge renovated its accommodations to ensure its guests found it welcoming, comfortable, and above all, one of the nicest lodges in Punta Allen. An onsite fly shop, reliable internet, and a complimentary bar are just a few amenities guests can expect to enjoy during their stay.
In 2022, our Cuban outfitters introduced a program combining the best of both the Juventud and Cayo Largo fisheries from a single live-aboard-based trip. The goal is to expose anglers to two of Cuba’s crown jewel fisheries and deliver the ultimate southern fishing package. Around the Cayo Largo area, you can target plentiful populations of bonefish and permit on endless white sand and turtle grass flats. To the west, Juventud offers extensive mangroves and a reef system that is home to large numbers of tarpon and snook. With the ability to move between both areas, this program enables anglers to target all species found throughout these protected waters. Canarreos has a limited operating season of mid-July through mid-February.
The towering Andean peaks dominate the skyline of Tres Valles’ expansive estancia in the Chubut province, home to some of the best trout fishing in the world. The lodge is upscale and inviting, balancing comfort, elegance, and personalized service. The lodge is purposefully built with immediate access to various midsized and small rivers, spring creeks, and productive lakes, with an array of private water access nearby. Guests can expect to fish new water daily with some of Patagonia’s most experienced and professional guides. At the lodge, spectacular views, cuisine, and high-end accommodations round out a remarkable operation in one of the wildest and most remote locations across Argentinean and Chilean Patagonia. If you are in search of a phenomenal, isolated fishing program partnered with high-end accommodations–Tres Valles Lodge should be near the top of your list.
Our Icelandic friends at Fish Partner have gained access to three of Iceland’s most productive and beautiful sea-run brown trout rivers. Formerly restricted to use by local fishing clubs, the new lease at Battle Hill Lodge will allow international anglers to target true trophy brown trout and Atlantic salmon surrounded by what is considered some of the most stunning fishing landscapes in Iceland. All three rivers at Battle Hill have one thing in common; they are all tributaries of the mighty glacial river Skaftá. The rivers run in a volcanic area, so anglers experience fishing in lava fields and black sands surrounded by glaciers. Swinging with double-handed rods is common, as well as nymphing through some extremely pretty pools with a single-handed rod.
There is something here for everyone, whether you are looking for an adventurous, solo trip or interested in fishing with friends, family, or a significant other in high-end accommodations. We encourage you to give us a call to discuss these new additions further for 2023 and beyond, as availability is limited.
