No See Um Lodge sits on the shores of Alaska’s Kvichak River, surrounded by thousands of miles of pristine waters, wilderness and world-class fishing. No See Um has definitively earned the reputation of being one of Alaska’s finest fly-out lodges and we believe that this operation is completely in a league of its own. With a fleet of float planes and jet boats, No See Um fishes the Kvichak, Moraine, American, Kulik, Funnel, Brooks, Battle, Talarik and numerous other "Tier-One" waters. One thing that we really like about this operation is that not only do you fly out every day (weather permitting), but the Lodge float planes do not leave your side once you are fishing. This ensures safety and consistently good fishing by providing the option of a quick and easy relocation if needed. Also, with the Lodge being located directly on the banks of the Kvichak (one of the finest trout rivers in the world!) fishing days are never missed due to poor weather.

Non-Angling Activities and Options

Internet / Communications
Internet access is available during your stay and cell phones will not work during your visit.
Located in the greater Iliamna region, No See Um concentrates primarily on trophy rainbow trout, along with Arctic char, Dolly Varden, and grayling. All five species of Pacific salmon are also available, depending on the time of year. The fishing at No See Um Lodge changes almost daily. The small number of clients (a maximum of twelve per week) allows for a different fishing experience every day. Owner John Holman and his excellent team of pilots and guides will give you the best options nightly so you can decide what you would like to experience during your fishing the next day. Daily options are dependent upon weather, water conditions, time of year, and physical factors. The guest-to-guide ratio is never more than two-to-one, so you can be assured that no matter what your needs are, No See Um can and will accommodate them.
With three DeHavilland Beaver float planes and numerous aluminum jet boats, No See Um has no trouble getting you to the fish. And one thing that we really love about this operation is that with three Beavers for a maximum of only 12 guests, the planes stay with you each day while you're fishing. They do not simply drop you off and then return later in the day, but rather wait with you, ready to quickly pick up and move at a moment's notice if the fishing, the conditions, or the weather dictate it. Very few lodges in Alaska offer this luxury! This ensures safety and better fishing by providing the option of a quick and easy relocation if needed. Also, with the lodge being located directly on the banks of the Kvichak River, there are no missed days due to weather.
Boats and Equipment
No See Um offers three DeHavilland Beavers on floats and aluminum jet boats equipped with Yamaha jet motors. For accessing the trout regions of the Kvichak, the Lodge has three 22-foot inboard jet sleds equipped with heaters for your comfort. The key things about having THREE Beavers for only 12 guests is that (A) Guests fly every single day that they want, and (B) the planes stay with guests each day - all day long. That allows for rapid movement and the ability to quickly head to another destination or river if the fishing conditions, fish numbers, weather, etc. dictate it. It is recommended that anglers bring all of their own gear and equipment, including rods, reels, wading boots, although they are available at the lodge if you need to borrow.
