Travel Details
How To Get There
Most guests will choose to travel via air by flying to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to begin and then taking a domestic flight on the first day of their trip to Prince George Airport (YXS). Nonstop daily service is offered for these domestic flights with Air Canada and Westjet. Upon arrival at Prince George, Crescent Spur will meet you and transfer you the approximate 2-hour shuttle ride to the lodge.
After your stay, the scheduled transfer will depart for Prince George Airport. The lodge asks that all guests book their departing flights on the morning of your outgoing day, and recommend you allow at least 1.5 hours in between your connection from the Vancouver Airport back home.
Documents Required
A passport is required for U.S. citizens to enter Canada. Anglers are also required to purchase a British Columbia freshwater fishing license and we do recommend doing this online prior to arrival.
Drunk Driving or other Criminal Record
Anyone with a criminal record (including a drunk driving conviction) may be excluded from Canada. A waiver of exclusion may be issued but several weeks are required and a processing fee must be paid. Contact the Canadian Embassy or a Canadian Consulate in the U.S. for more information.

Fishing
General Information
Due to the remote location and most fishing areas being accessed via helicopter, Crescent Spur guests have the opportunity to fish pristine and untouched areas each day. Because of the extremely low angling pressure and untouched habitat, anglers can expect large, willing bull trout and rainbows available throughout their stay. Crescent Spur has access to many location options daily, including crystal clear freestone rivers, smaller streams, and float tube options on unfished high mountain alpine lakes. Fishing is done with a variety of different techniques including streamers, nymphs, and classic dry fly fishing, all in crystal clear waters and sight fishing opportunities.
During the days of your trip that anglers will be targeting bull trout in the high mountain freestone streams, it is not uncommon to fish a few different locations. Pilots and guides will do “heli-bumps” and hop between different fishing locations each day. When fishing for the vibrant rainbow trout in high mountain alpine lakes, anglers will access these fisheries via float tubes with guides with the possibility of switching lakes mid-day. At times the guides will also use jet boats to fish the larger tributaries that feed into the Fraser River. Regardless of your daily adventure, the Crescent Spur guides have access to multiple fishing scenarios to keep anglers in remote fishing locations, beautifully scenic areas, and untouched opportunities for bull trout and rainbows.
Boats and Equipment
When accessing fishing locations via helicopter, most of the fishing is done by wading in the clear rivers and streams within the area. Depending upon the day and preferences of anglers, guides do have access to some incredibly remote and untouched high alpine lakes as well and will utilize float tubes to access different areas of each lake.
