Fly fishing for Tasmania’s wild brown trout is truly a magical experience. This stunning landscape studded with beautiful mountains, breathtaking scenery, and abundant local wildlife provides a backdrop to the area’s number of world-class trout fisheries. Every angling experience can be catered to individual tastes- fly fish a mountain stream with small dry flies or wade a freestone river poking and prodding for trout behind boulders and in pocket water. Additionally, the renowned highland lakes of Tasmania provide an angling experience found in very few other destinations. Either wade the lake shores on the lookout for protruding fins or dark silhouettes or drift from one of the large wooden homemade boats casting to feeding fish. All skill levels are welcome and both novices and experts alike will enjoy the varied fishing scenarios.
