Fly Fishing The Ningaloo Coastline
The waters around Exmouth offer an incredibly diverse fishery. On the flats inside Ningaloo Reef, trophy bonefish, permit, golden trevally, and giant trevally can be caught within a mile or two of the deep water where sailfish and marlin can be teased on the fly. A short distance away on the other side of the North West Cape, the shallow waters of Exmouth Gulf offer vast flats, mangrove-lined creeks, small islands, and coral shoals.
Approximately 1200 km north of Perth, daily flights land at Learmonth airport. Nonfishing activities abound and from autumn through spring – the whale shark migration is a highlight.
This is one of our most family-friendly destinations and an incredible location to sample the wild west of Australia.

Ice cold water and packed lunch included each day with a fishing charter. Locally caught shrimp on a slice of fresh bread is often on the menu!

How To Get There
Flying is the most effective way to reach Exmouth. Almost all flights transit through Perth and it pays to give yourself an evening in Perth to catch one of the many daily flights to Exmouth the next day. If you choose to catch the earliest flights, your guide can pick you up from the airport and you can be fishing – right off the plane!

General Information
Calm offshore conditions allow the opportunity to cast to billfish, tunas, and a multitude of species balling bait and capitalizing on the incredible biomass. You might be teasing fish or casting to free swimmers. The flats harbor permit, blue bastards, queenfish, and trevallies. On any day you could be fishing to tailing permit within sight of boats trolling for billfish. Fishing is from the boat and your guide will use electric motors to place you into the perfect position to make the cast. Some days you might use chumming techniques to bring fish off the reefs or up from deep water into casting range.
Temperatures are warm through the winter and can be hot through summer – The windiest months are November through January.
You will be guided by Ben Knight. Ben has over 10 years’ experience fishing the waters of Exmouth Gulf and the Ningaloo Reef. He specializes in guiding light tackle enthusiasts for trophy bonefish, permit, giant trevally, billfish, and all other sports fish in these pristine waters.
Two of the key characteristics that make Ben an outstanding guide, is his attention to detail and patience.
Boats and Equipment
Quality fly rods and reels are available on request and flies can be supplied at cost. The boat is a customized center console – surveyed to Australia’s 2C survey standards with the very latest electronics. Extremely roomy and launchable from the beach – you can be on fishing right off the ramp or beach.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CANCELLATIONS
Receipt of deposit and/or final payment is acknowledgment that registrant has read and accepts the deposit, cancellation, refund and responsibility clauses for these packages. A non-refundable deposit of 50% per person is due at the time of booking to hold both space and guides. Full pre-payment is due 90 days prior to date of trip. For cancellations, all deposits and payments are non-refundable, and because of the operator’s strict no refund policy, Yellow Dog strongly recommends the purchase of trip cancellation insurance. Ningaloo Fly Fishing will not refund payments in the event of poor weather, and no refund can be made for unused arrangements or fishing time lost due to inclement weather. If the operator decides to cancel the tour due to unsafe weather conditions, then a trip credit may be issued for a future date within one year of original trip dates. Please note that this is entirely at the discretion of the operator. If a cancelled package is resold by either the operator or by Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures, then a full refund will be sent minus a $100.00 per person cancellation fee charged by Yellow Dog. Once again, Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures strongly recommends that anglers and guests purchase travel insurance for this trip.

Payment Terms For All Yellow Dog Trip Bookings
In order to lock in your trip reservation, we ask that you please remit payment at the time of receipt of invoice. For your convenience, Yellow Dog accepts on-line payments via a direct and secure ACH platform – a quick and easy way to complete your trip reservation. Note that all Yellow Dog invoices include a live link that takes you directly to the Yellow Dog ACH platform for fast and easy payment. For open and existing invoices with a remaining balance, payment reminders also include this easy link to the ACH page.
Other customary forms of payment that are accepted are checks or wire transfers. If you would like to pay in a different way or have any questions about alternate payment methods, please contact Yellow Dog at (888) 777-5060 or (406) 585-8667. We are available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Beginning September 1st, 2020, Yellow Dog will apply a 3% convenience fee for all credit card transactions.
