ACCOMMODATIONS
Lodging Details
Eleven private bungalows provide accommodations for up to 22 total guests at a time. Overhanging eaves, towering palm trees, ceiling fans, and screened windows keep these guest quarters cool with minimal power usage. Each bungalow is decorated with Bahamian pastel colors and décor, and each has its private bathroom. Imagine yourself walking along the private pathway from your bungalow to the azure waters of the South Bight and lounging in your hammock or beach chair to watch the sunset over the water. This is Tiamo's specialty—relaxing in style with unmatched service. The Resort also features a fabulous infinity swimming pool and a large deck area that overlooks the main beach. Hardcore anglers and non-anglers alike will both love the full-service amenities of this high-end Resort.

Food and Beverage
When it’s time to eat, you will enjoy one of the finest dining experiences in all of the Bahamas. The sophisticated, natural approach that defines Tiamo's philosophy applies to the food served in the restaurant. A Michelin-trained chef will deliver a fantastic menu nightly. Savor the flavors of carefully crafted the Caribbean and fusion cuisine, made using the freshest local and organic ingredients and complemented by an excellent selection of wines from some of the world’s best vineyards. Bottled water, sodas, juices, and coffee are included in the price of your package, and the lodge features a fully-stocked bar with local beers, wine, liquors, and mixers.

Typical Length of Stay
Any length of stay is welcome at Tiamo, from a quick weekend getaway to a full seven-night visit.

Non-Angling Activities and Options
Tiamo specializes in alternative activities aside from fishing, which is a primary reason people visit this destination. Included in your stay are some free activities. You can take off down the Bight for an afternoon of kayaking. You can fish right off the Tiamo Beach or sail one of the easy-to-navigate catamarans directly in front of the resort. Explore the crystal clear waters of South Andros and the South Bight with complimentary snorkeling gear or stay ashore and explore the diverse wildlife on a guided or unguided nature walk. Tiamo’s Nature Concierge Team are knowledgeable and friendly and offer free guided trips to some of the most beautiful areas of the island. See the amazing Blue Holes, the "Mysterious Crack," or the endless miles of coral reef along the eastern coast of Andros Island.

Internet / Communications
The Lodge does offer Wi-Fi for guests. Most U.S. cell phones will work on Andros depending on your service plan.

FISHING
General Information
While fishing is not the sole focus (or even main) focus of this destination, Tiamo works directly with the area’s top independent guides to provide a first-rate, professional flats experience for all angling guests. Because the Resort is located along the sparsely-populated South Bight, the fishing grounds are expansive, less-pressured, and full of eager bonefish. Numerous cuts, cays, inland flats, coastal flats and mangrove lagoons provide endless fishing opportunities for the guests and guides, one of the reasons that the island of Andros is justifiably known as the “Bonefishing Capital of the World."

Guides will customize each day based on your preferences. You can wade all day for tailing bonefish or spend your time poling the deeper flats for larger bones. If you are new to saltwater fly fishing, the guides are excellent instructors and can target large schools of smaller bones that will readily pounce on flies. For the veteran angler, the South Bight is known for delivering legitimate shots on a trophy, double-digit bonefish.

Another bonus for Tiamo Resort is its proximity to the famed West Side of Andros. A 25-minute boat run places you in position to hunt for tarpon, permit, and the classic West Side milky-colored bones. Other species found on the flats are barracuda, mangrove snapper, and jacks. The Resort’s beach offers shots at good-sized cruising bonefish throughout the year and can easily be waded on either side of the resort. This is ideal for those wishing to “sneak” some fishing in on a romantic or family getaway, or during non-guided days.

January – February
A variety of fish species can be caught at the beginning of the calendar year. These are the months for trophy bonefish! Lots of big barracuda cruise the flats as well at this time.

March – April
This is peak bonefish season, with consistent weather and warm, sunny days.

May – June
Bonefish, tarpon, and barracuda are plentiful. Winds are calmer and cooling afternoon rain showers are possible.

July – September
Morning fishing is best for bonefish, as the flats heat up quickly. These are great months for stalking barracuda, sharks, and snapper. Calm winds prevail, except the random Caribbean storm. Tarpon is also available to target.

October – December
All of the bights of Andros are great during these months. This is a great time of year to find the elusive permit as well.

Boats and Equipment
Anglers fish from 16-foot Dolphin Super Skiffs, complete with poling platforms, 90-100HP Yamaha outboards, and spacious casting decks. All of the skiffs are roomy, fast and comfortable. It is recommended that anglers bring all of their gear and equipment, including rods, reels, wading boots, flies and all terminal tackle.
TRAVEL DETAILS
How To Get There
There are several options for flying into South Andros' Congo Town Airport (TZN). Please contact Yellow Dog for ticketing and scheduling assistance. Our recommended choice for reaching this part of Andros Island is from Nassau International Airport (NAS) with Western Air. Western flies two flights each day to Congo Town (TZN) from Nassau (NAS). Groups of more than six persons may also consider a private charter from Ft. Lauderdale. Yellow Dog works with several charter companies in Ft. Lauderdale and would be happy to work with you to arrange a charter flight.

Arrival and Departure Details / Times
The flights from Nassau (NAS) to Congo Town (TZN) depart at 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM, and take approximately 20 minutes. The flights return to Nassau at 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Upon arrival on the island, a shuttle will be waiting at the Congo Town airport for you and your party. This shuttle will transport you to the dock where the Resort’s private boat will take you to Tiamo. The boat ride is about 20 minutes, and a bimini roof on the boat will keep you out of the sun or shelter from the occasional rainstorm.

Documents Required

Client Testimonials

"The South Bight is, quite simply, a world class place to fish. The fish are big and relatively un-pressured. North and South of the mouth are miles of almost un-fished flats. Bonefish of ten pounds are not unusual. Having access to this kind of fishing while staying at such an amenity-rich luxury resort is truly quite remarkable"
- Don Causey (Editor, Angling Report)

“We had a delightful time. Perfect location for a romantic anniversary as well as fishing. We loved Marvin. We enjoyed catching our first bone fish ever. Matt and Mo are wonderful managers and host. Our room was beautiful and the food fabulous. We hope we can return during the spring. Thank you so much for all of your help with our booking.”
