Hosted by: “Ocean Active – Dubai” Owner Nick Bowles
Dates: February 1-8, 2020
We have four spots open and available to join the legendary Capt. Nick Bowles for a fun week on Alphonse. Nick always puts together an incredibly fun and energetic crew. They fish hard and play hard, and the guides LOVE having these guys on the island. This will be a high-energy week that promises to be a ton of fun. Nick is a great host and one of the most knowledgeable people in the game when it comes to fishing the Indian Ocean.
Here at Yellow Dog, we have been fortunate enough to fish Alphonse a number of times over the years, and each and every time we are there, we’re always 100% blown away by the fishery, the area, and the overall operation. You can honestly expect amazing and diverse fishing on Alphonse and nearby St. Francois Atoll (the main area where the program’s flats fishing takes place) every day of the trip. Alphonse offers an incredibly productive and super-diverse fishery that throughout the season offers possibilities for bonefish, GT’s, milkfish, triggerfish, permit, several other types of trevally, and at least a dozen other “incidental” species that are both beautiful and exotic. Aside from the great fishing, the guides on Alphonse are also incredibly impressive. They are some of the finest guides in the business, and all are a pleasure to fish with. As far as the amenities and lodging on the Alphonse, one nice thing about this trip is that each person (or couple) always gets their own private, secluded chalet or beach suite accommodations. The food, scenery, service, and overall offerings are fantastic, and compared to our other operations in the Indian Ocean, this is the most “full service” and high-end lodge package that we have (which is something that also makes Alphonse our top choice for non-anglers and families as well as anglers.) All Alphonse packages are 7 night / 6-day packages based on a Saturday-to-Saturday stay. (Depart Mahe to Alphonse on Saturday morning and return to Mahe the following Saturday, early-afternoon.) The island itself is very nice and offers an amazing setting for a relaxing, private beach vacation. A full week on the island (including the IDC charter flight from Mahe to Alphonse) is $9,840 per angler for these specific dates. An accompanying non-angler rate is $6,850 per week. Anglers should plan on arriving on Mahe on the Friday before the trip starts. We always recommend that anglers overnight on Mahe that evening in order to safely make the private charter transfer to Alphonse the following morning.
