Fly Fish one of the Caribbean's Most Untouched Saltwater Flats Fisheries
Join Yellow Dog’s Belize and Honduras program director, Matt Kelsic, on a hosted trip to the Faraway Cayes – a new and remote location 160 miles southeast of Guanaja. These isolated cayes, for years its location known mainly by a family of longtime guides, lobster fishermen, and Miskito Indians, were kept a secret from inquisitive anglers. Until now. Fly Fish Guanaja has developed a remote basecamp on a small island (known as the Faraway Cayes) where giant schools of bonefish and permit over fifty pounds inhabit the nearby flats. Although the area has been a resource for fishermen, bonefish and permit have been left alone to grow and multiply in ways that take seeing to believe. Anglers will have a chance to fish in a rich bonefish and permit environment with shots at jack crevalle, barracuda, and more in a fishery that only witnesses 60 or fewer anglers during their twelve-week season.Â
