YD has locked down the dates of April 11 – 18 at La Pescadora Lodge. This is a prime week for fly fishing the protected waters of Ascension Bay.
La Pescadora Lodge offers one of the best values in Ascension Bay for anglers seeking a fishing-focused lodge with access to great waters and great guides. The lodge is located just south of the small fishing town of Punta Allen. The location overlooks a “home” bonefish flat and is just north of the long-time landmark that marks the northern coast of Ascension Bay – the Punta Allen lighthouse. Jose Ucan and Lilly Bertram are the on-site managing partners of the lodge, and together they have been working in the fishing industry in Punta Allen for more than a dozen years.

How To Get There
All guests should book flights to Cancun International Airport (CUN). From Cancun, you will be transferred by air-conditioned vehicle and boat to the lodge, a total trip of about three hours
Arrival and Departure Details / Times
It is very important to schedule your arrival time into Cancun International Airport (CUN) before 2:30 PM and also book your return flights for after 1:00 PM. This is very important to ensure for a smooth transfer to and from the lodge and the airport. If you book your flights outside this window, you may be charged for a private transfer or have to overnight in Cancun prior to arrival at the Lodge. The driving portion of the transfer is around two hours. The remainder of the transfer is typically by boat through the Boca Paila Lagoon. This boat ride is approximately one hour long, and passes directly through “Permit Alley.” If the weather is rough or rainy, you may be transferred by van directly to the Lodge, which makes the total time from Cancun approximately four hours.
All U.S. citizens are required to have a valid passport that does not expire within six (6) months of trips dates. Please be sure that your passport has at least two blank, unstamped pages remaining in back, and that it is not torn, delaminated, or damaged in any way. No visas or inoculations are required for U.S. citizens. A Mexican departure tax is payable at the airport when leaving Mexico. Some airlines include this as a prepaid part of your ticket.
