Kamchatka Wilderness Exploratory Float

Lodging Details
While the guides and camp staff for each float take every necessary measure to ensure comfort on each trip, these are the most rustic and hands-on floats of any offering in Kamchatka. Anglers will stay each night in two-person tents that will be set up at designated campsites each evening. Air mattress pads will be provided, but each angler is required to bring their own sleeping bag. An enclosed dining tent and table will be set up each evening for anglers to relax for breakfast and dinner, and tell stories around the campfire each evening. The camp staff will set up a latrine each evening and solar shower upon request. This is a hard-core camping float that is designed to give flexibility when moving downstream each day to the final zone and helicopter extraction point.
Food and Beverages
Classic Russian cuisine such as borsh, ukra, and a variety of homemade soups, salads, and entrees will be served throughout the week. At each meal, anglers can expect to have a selection of meats and cheese, fruit, salads, soup, and a main dish consisting of pork, chicken, beef, or fish. Breakfasts are always hearty and consist of hot cereals, toast, eggs, bacon, and fruit leaving anglers full and fueled for the day of fishing ahead. Lunches are served a buffet sandwich-style while on the river ensuring anglers spend as much time as possible on the water. Lunches include meats and cheese, toast for sandwiches, fruit, candies, and salads. Beverages included in the package are bottled water and soda. Some vodka and Russian beers will be available for purchase during the float and can be settled upon at the end of the trip. For any additional alcohol and if you would like reassurance that you will have what you need, we recommend anglers purchase alcohol at the Duty-Free in Anchorage prior to their departure for Petropavlovsk and check it in their luggage.
Non-Angling Activities
Activities for non-anglers are extremely limited, as this is a very fishing-focused destination. The area does offer great opportunities for photos and great wildlife viewing, but this is not a trip that is recommended for anyone who is not primarily interested in fishing long and full days.
Internet / Communications
There is no internet connection or cell phone service while on the exploratory float trips. Sat phones are the only means of communication while on the river and for emergency use only.
