Belize River Lodge is a legendary, world-class fishing lodge that has been in continuous operation since 1960. Originally opened as Barothy’s Caribbean Lodge Ltd., it was the first fishing lodge in all of Belize. Today, the lodge is still going strong, offering anglers easy access to several rivers, creeks, the Barrier Reef, and the area’s vast offshore system of flats and mangrove cays. It is without a doubt one of the top tarpon fishing destinations in Belize, offering anglers consistent tarpon action as well as shots at bonefish, permit, snook, and more.

The main lodge is air-conditioned, so guests can enjoy a cool, relaxing meal to start and end their day. All rooms feature wireless internet, alarm clocks, and outlet plugs with 4 USB slot surge protector charging stations. Accommodation options at the Lodge include The Guest House, The Cottage, and The Bungalow.

The dining room's claim to fame is three solid-slab mahogany dining tables, which for years, have been home to some of the finest dining, socializing, and storytelling in all of Belize! When you return to the Lodge from fishing each day, fresh water and ice will be ready and waiting in your room.
