Returns Policy

Returns: Your Satisfaction is Guaranteed

At Yellow Dog, we offer a thoughtfully curated selection of fly-fishing gear and accessories from some of the industry’s top manufacturers and distributors. If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return regular-priced items (purchased at MSRP) within 30 days of receiving your order for a full refund. After 30 days, regular-priced items can be returned for full in-store credit. Please note that closeout, discounted, or custom-ordered items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.

How Do I Make a Return or an Exchange? 

  
Step 1:
Please contact us within 30 days from the date you received your order via email (orders@yellowdogflyfishing.com) or phone (406-585-8667 ext. 2 for fly shop) for a full refund or to make an exchange.

Step 2: We will give you a 'return merchandise number' to help expedite the return process. Yellow Dog Flyfishing does not pay for return shipping unless we made a mistake with your order.

Step 3: Send all returned goods to Yellow Dog Flyfishing 81801 Gallatin Road Bozeman Montana 59718.  Please note that all returned items must include their original packaging, with original tags and labels still attached. Returned items must be in new condition and eligible for resale at full price and accompanied by your original sales receipt.

Are There Situations a Return Will Not Be Accepted?

  • All discounted sale items are final, and returns will not be accepted.
  • Any returns outside of the 30-day return window will not be accepted.
  • Damaged or worn items are not eligible for return. All of the manufacturers we work with stand behind their products with warranties against manufacture defect, contact the manufacturer directly if you suspect that your purchase may be defective. 
  • Warranty and repair services are generally available from the manufacturers for a nominal fee relative to the original purchase price.

What if the Product I Purchased is Lightly Used?

  • As long as the item is returned new and unused (with tags/original boxes, and original receipt), there will be no restocking fee.
  • Refunds typically take 2-3 business days to process and will be issued using the original form of payment.
  • If we receive an item that is used or not in a new, re-sellable condition, we may charge you a 20% restocking fee, or we can ship the item back to you - your choice.

What if I Need to Cancel My Order?

We are happy to cancel your order as long as it has not yet shipped. Once an order has left our building, it is considered a return and will be subject to the return guidelines listed above.

EU Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you have the legal right to withdraw from most online purchases within 14 days of receiving your order, or within 14 days of receiving the last item in your order if items are delivered separately, without giving any reason.

Yellow Dog may offer a longer return window in certain cases, but this does not limit your statutory EU right of withdrawal.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us before the withdrawal period expires. You can initiate a return or cancellation request through your customer account via the yellow button above

After notifying us, you must return the goods within 14 days. Unless otherwise stated, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.

We will refund your payment, including the cost of standard outbound shipping, using your original payment method. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or you have provided proof that the goods have been returned, whichever occurs first.

Exceptions: The right of withdrawal does not apply to custom-made, personalized, or specially ordered goods, or to other products excluded under applicable EU consumer protection laws.
