Our latest Yellow Dog Field Report takes us to Andros, Bahamas—a place that has played an important role in both Yellow Dog's history and Ian Davis's life.
Ian returns to his home away from home, traveling throughout Andros and visiting lodges, guides, and old friends along the way. The film also brings him back to the legendary Bang Bang Club, where he reflects on the early days spent with Charlie Smith—better known as "Crazy Charlie"—and the lasting impact those years had on him and his career in fly fishing travel.
But this Field Report is about more than fishing. Ian looks back at the growth of the Yellow Dog Community & Conservation Foundation and the work being done today to support the places and communities that make destinations like Andros so special. That includes the ongoing Mangrove Cay Park Project, supported by funds raised through the Big Yard Bonefish Classic.
It's a look at Andros through the lens of its bonefish, people, history, and the relationships built over decades of traveling and fishing the island.
