Guests can also customize the length of stay—combining two shorter visits or bookending two full week-long trips. Package #1 (El Pescador Lodge + Copal Tree Lodge)
This combination pairs two of Belize’s most iconic and luxurious operations. Begin your trip on Ambergris Caye at El Pescador Lodge and target tarpon, permit, and bonefish just minutes away from the lodge. With its beachfront setting, swimming pool, and family-friendly atmosphere, El Pescador is ideal for couples or anglers traveling with non-fishing companions. From there, travel south to Copal Tree Lodge—set deep in the rainforest overlooking the Rio Grande. Here you can fish the southern flats for permit, go on numerous non-angling excursions, or simply enjoy the property’s spa, farm-to-table dining, and eco-lodge setting. Together, these lodges offer a blend of world-class fishing and upscale comfort in two very different environments.
Package #2 (Sea Dreams Belize + Garbutt's Fishing Lodge)
For anglers looking for value and variety, this combination delivers big. Start at Sea Dreams Hotel on the laid-back island of Caye Caulker, where you’ll fish nearby flats for bonefish, tarpon, and permit while soaking up the island’s vibrant, casual vibe. Then travel south to Punta Gorda to fish with Garbutt’s Fishing Lodge, a well-established family-run operation with access to some of Belize’s most productive permit waters. This itinerary is ideal for anglers who want to experience both the northern and southern fisheries without breaking the bank, making it one of the most affordable yet well-rounded Belizean combo trips available.
Package #3 (Belize River Lodge + Turneffe Atoll)
This package is designed for ease of logistics and maximum fishing variety. Begin your trip at Belize River Lodge, located just minutes from the international airport, where you’ll fish rivers, lagoons, and coastal flats for tarpon, snook, and more. After a few days, board the scheduled ferry out to Turneffe Atoll, where you’ll stay at either Turneffe Flats Lodge or Turneffe Island Resort. With endless flats and reef systems surrounding the atoll, anglers have access to world-class bonefish, tarpon, and permit opportunities. Because the ferry to Turneffe only runs twice a week, it is common to have a shorter stay at Belize River Lodge before a dedicated week on Turneffe Atoll.
Sample Itinerary: El Pescador Lodge + Copal Tree Lodge
- Day 1: Arrive in Belize City and take a short domestic flight to Ambergris Caye. Transfer to El Pescador Lodge and settle into your beachfront accommodations.
- Days 2–4: Three full days of guided fishing from El Pescador. Explore nearby flats for bonefish, tarpon, and permit. Non-anglers can enjoy the pool, spa services, snorkeling trips, or relaxing at the lodge.
- Day 5: After breakfast, return by domestic flight to Belize City, then connect south to Punta Gorda. Transfer to Copal Tree Lodge, set high above the Rio Grande and surrounded by pristine rainforest. Spend the afternoon exploring the lodge grounds or enjoying a cocktail on the jungle-view deck.
- Days 6–8: Three full days of guided fishing from Copal Tree. Target primarily permit with some opportunities for tarpon, bonefish, and snook. Non-anglers can enjoy farm-to-table culinary tours, chocolate-making, kayaking, jungle tours, and the spa.
- Day 9: Depart Copal Tree Lodge for Punta Gorda and connect by domestic flight back to Belize City for international departures.
