Kerry Burkheimer began crafting fly rods in the mid‑1970s, building his very first rod at home and gradually building a local following as a custom rod maker. What started as a small home operation expanded dramatically—by the early 1990s, he moved into a downtown Washougal, Washington shop, where his workshop now produces about 1,500 meticulously crafted rods annually. Mentored by fiberglass rod legend Russ Peak, Burkheimer developed his own distinctive designs and “Burky feel,” becoming renowned in the fly‑fishing world for exceptional craftsmanship and emotion‑driven rod tapers.

Every CF Burkheimer fly rod is crafted start to finish in their Washougal, Washington workshop.

CF Burkheimer Fly Rods are warrantied to the registered original owner for life. Accidents or misuse are not covered under this warranty. However, if a mishap takes place resulting in a broken section, CF Burkheimer will repair or replace the part for a nominal fee.
