Bear Trail Lodge is located on the banks of the crystal-clear Naknek River, a fishery that was recently named the “Number One Rainbow Trout River in Alaska” by Fish Alaska Magazine. This amazing river is home to all five species of Pacific salmon as well as some of the largest rainbow trout in the world. Seriously … these guys have some of the LARGEST rainbow trout in the world!

Lodging Details
Bear Trail Lodge consists of a very comfortable and inviting Main Lodge complete with a commercial kitchen, large dining room, relaxing living room, full bar area, a hot tub, and several large decks that overlook the river. Each of the Lodge’s guest cabins are well-appointed with queen beds, private bathrooms, individual heaters, and comfortable couches. A boardwalk connects the entire Lodge elevated 70 feet above the river, providing guests with the opportunity to relax and enjoy the views while reflecting on the adventures of the day.

Food and Beverages
The Lodge chef will prepare three hearty meals each day. All meals are served home-style and are all-you-can-eat. Breakfast includes hot and cold cereals, muffins, breads, fruit, eggs, French toast, pancakes, bacon, sausage, reindeer sausage, juices, and coffee. Lunch usually consists of sandwiches and soups. A shore lunch can be arranged with your guide, weather, and wildlife permitting. The dinners are the main non-fishing event of the day, and menus include Alaskan-style appetizers, New York Strips, prime rib, crab legs, fresh salmon, halibut, shrimp, chicken, and pork. Complimentary beer and wine are also served. Delicious desserts complete these excellent dinners. The kitchen is open 24 hours a day, so when food is not being served, guests are free to help themselves to anything in the kitchen. The Lodge does not supply any hard liquor, but you can certainly bring your own. They do include beer and wine along with all of the common mixers.

Typical Length of Stay
A standard package at Bear Trail Lodge is seven (7) days / seven (7) nights, although trips of any length can be arranged and accommodated.

Non-Angling Activities and Options
For non-anglers, the Lodge offers a variety of activities including scenic flights, wildlife viewing, boat tours, and seasonal bird hunting. The Lodge staff is fantastic about accommodating non-anglers and family members.

Internet / Communications
Internet access is available during your stay and some cell phones will work in King Salmon depending on your service provider.

Remember that Yellow Dog’s services are completely free! When you book a trip with Yellow Dog, you never pay more than when you book directly with the lodge or outfitter. All prices listed below are per person and based on double occupancy.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CANCELLATIONS
A non-refundable deposit of 50% per person is due at the time of booking for all lodging and fishing packages, and final payment if due 90 days prior to arrival. For cancellations, all deposits and payments are non-refundable. In no event will the lodge or Yellow Dog be responsible for any cancellation of services or operations due to inclement weather, any event of force majeure, airline delays or flight cancellations, or any other reason beyond the control of the lodge. The lodge will not refund payments in the event of poor weather, or if arrival flights are cancelled or airline connections are missed. Additionally, the lodge and Yellow Dog are not responsible for alternative travel arrangements including flights, hotels, meals and any other expenses incurred. For all of these reasons, and because of the lodge’s no refund and no credit policy, Yellow Dog strongly recommends that anglers and guests purchase travel insurance and full coverage for your trip. If a cancelled package is resold by either the lodge or by Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures, then a full refund will be issued minus a $500.00 per person cancellation fee charged by the lodge and a $100.00 per person fee charged by Yellow Dog. Receipt of deposit and/or final payment is acknowledgment that registrant has read and accepts the deposit, cancellation, refund and responsibility clauses for these packages. Once again, Yellow Dog strongly recommends that anglers and guests purchase travel insurance these Alaska packages.

Unless otherwise noted on your invoice, for all trips less than 90 days out, full payment is required after receipt of the confirmation email to secure guides and reservations. For trips outside of 90 days, a 50% deposit is required upon receipt of confirmation email to confirm your reservations.
