YD TEAM FISHING TRIP | HENRYS FORK

May 03, 23

YD TEAM FISHING TRIP | HENRY'S FORK

Two weeks ago, the Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventure team headed down to the Henry’s Fork River for a weekend of fishing, boiling crawfish and overall good times. YD team member and long-time Henry’s Fork guide, John Hudgens, hosted us for the weekend in Island Park, Idaho.

The crew hit the road for the three hour drive from Bozeman to Island Park with boats in tow, live crawfish from Louisiana, and plenty of PBR. On our arrival evening we enjoyed a southerner-approved crawfish boil complements of Ian Davis while playing a game of catch in a field full of wild flowers.

After a night of fun we had a top-notch breakfast at TroutHunter Lodge in Island Park before heading off to the Henry’s Fork to chase big bugs and push over diversion dams.

It was great to stop in for a visit at Yellow Dog’s destinations in Island Park. The shops are bustling and the guides are happy to be back to work with the season about to be in full gear. We were also lucky enough to be treated to a great dinner hosted by Yellow Dog destination, the Henry’s Fork Lodge. It’s an amazing lodge and the food was better than we all could have hoped.

After another great day of fishing on the Henry’s Fork, the team loaded up and headed back to Big Sky Country. The fishing in the West is picking up. It was a great winter for water and the fishing forecast is looking off the charts! Fish are hungry and the bugs are hatching. If you haven’t booked your trip to the Rockies, you still have time. Give us a call and we’ll get you set up for a Rocky Mountain Adventure.
