Ian Davis reporting in ... Live From The Field -The Yellow Dog family-hosted trip has started off with huge success. So far, many bones have been landed, a permit hooked and one landed, some tarpon put in the air, but this snook has been the fish of the event.

The Kid's Fishing Derby starts in two days so the kids are honing their skills tomorrow and then game on! All the proceeds will be donated to the Punta Allen Schools, which we will be touring tomorrow.

About: 

Yellow Dog is hosting the third annual Yucatan Family Hosted trip to Grand Slam Fishing Lodge in Ascension Bay, and Sensatori Resort in Playa del Carmen June 20-30. This year we are adding a new twist for the young anglers. This will be the first annual Ascension Bay Kid's Fishing Derby sponsored by Hatch Reels, Thomas and Thomas Fine Fly Rods, Simms Fishing, Grand Slam Lodge, and Yellow Dog FlyFishing Adventures.

Kids are awarded prizes for most fish, most species, biggest bone, permit, tarpon, snook, and Cuda. All proceeds from the final night's silent and live auction go to the Punta Allen Schools. Stay tuned for more updates...
