Yellow Dog client, John G. just returned from a successful trip to Tsimane's Secure Lodge in Bolivia. Read his thoughts below on the booking process, gear recommendations, and the overall experience with lodging and accommodations.Â
Q. Did you find the trip booking process through Yellow Dog enjoyable and useful? If not, please share why.
R. Yes very easy.
Q. Was the Yellow Dog pre-trip planning packet(s) and travel itinerary you received for your trip helpful and accurate? If not, how could it be improved?
R. For the most part. Although the Covid testing requirements for the country were incorrect according to the pre planning packet. Also other members had visa paperwork already printed in hand I had to get mine from customs. Wasn’t an issue but could’ve saved me time.
Q. Do you have any comments or constructive feedback based on the overall lodging (rooms, dining area, social area, etc)?
R. Beds could use a foam pad. They were stiff. Also only one pillow. Would’ve like two
Q. Do you have any comments or constructive feedback based on the service, friendliness, etc of the lodge staff?
R. Guides and staff were great!
Q. Did the food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) match what you were expecting? If not, please provide additional comments or constructive feedback.
R. Yes food was excellent
Q. Were you pleased with your guide(s) customer service, communication skills, professionalism, work ethic, and general fishing knowledge? If not, please share why.
R. Yes was very pleased with all guides!
Q. What key pieces of gear or flies made your trip successful?
R. Vaseline, coband or finger wraps, sunscreen, bug spray, and EP baitfish flies
Q. What piece(s) of equipment would not leave home without for this trip , or your next, with Yellow Dog?
R. Vaseline, some kind of speaker, toys for the native children, stuff for the native guides, more breathable light weight shirts, a most importantly a backup rod.
Q. Would you return to this lodge destination? Please share why or why not.
R. Yes I absolutely loved my trip to the jungle and would come back. Would be nice to come back when water levels are higher and more accessible.
Q. How would you briefly summarize your overall trip experience?
R. An absolutely amazing experience. The jungle is so beautiful and fascinating and so is everything that inhabits it. A true jungle experience like no other.
