Simms sales rep Scott Harkins recently logged some hours in the Seychelles at the same time Yellow Dogâs Jim Klug and Camille Egdorf were there shooting for a new Confluence Films project. Harkins talked with Denverâs Trouts Fly Fishing about the trip (read the full interview here).
In the interview, he fondly recounted the feeling of casting to his first Giant Trevally: âYou canât describe how fast these fish move and you need to begin your cast way earlier thank you think or theyâre on you. When a GT decides to eat your fly, you canât strip fast enough. Seriously, their closing speed is incredible!â When asked how he felt after landing his first GT, Harkins expounded:
âThe Seychelles is to GTs what the Florida Keys is to permit. The guides, mostly South African, like bonefish, bumpies, and permit, but they love their GTs. Itâs their passion and itâs difficult not to get caught up in the whole thing! Itâs quite amazing to look at one of these creatures close up.â Read the article, and once youâve decided a Seychelles fly fishing trip is next on your list, give us a call.
