Lodging Details
Punta Blanca is a new, small-scale boutique hotel located on the very edge of the resort zone – an area that is restricted to small hotel and guesthouse operations of ten rooms or less. Punta Blanca is ideally situated on a gorgeous white sand beach, with a full-service restaurant, outdoor beach bar, comfortable lobby area, and ten spacious and comfortable suites. Each room features A/C, kitchenettes, and king beds, and rooms featuring a private balcony, deck area, and plunge pool are an option depending on availability and upon request. Punta Blanca is the primary base of operations for Fin Chasers, and an incredibly clean, comfortable, and safe location for fishing Isla Blanca. With full amenities, great service, and an incredible beach setting, the hotel works well for both anglers and non-anglers. It is worth noting that single-occupancy accommodations are always included with all fishing packages!
Food and Beverages
Punta Blanca Hotel has a full-service, beachfront restaurant and bar. The menu features a variety of different Mexican and American options, including plenty of fresh seafood dishes! It is also easy to walk up and down the beach to other hotels and resorts – all of which have on-site dining.
Typical Length of Stay
Packages of any length can be arranged, and it is possible to arrive and depart on any day of the week. There are no set change-over days, and it is also possible to customize any number of nights to pair with any number of fishing days. Contact us at Yellow Dog today for additional details.
Non-Angling Activities and Options
Being based in the Isla Blanca and Cancun area, non-angling activities abound. Guests have quick access to a variety of activities including bird watching, snorkeling, beachcombing, boat cruises, and just plain relaxing. There are also numerous other attractions and day trip options in the area including Mayan ruins, water parks, theme parks, golf, shopping, and more.
Internet / Communications
Wi-Fi is available at both locations via your own device(s). Cell phone service is available depending on your individual carrier.
How To Get There
All guests should book flights to Cancun International Airport (CUN). From there, you will be met by an air-conditioned vehicle and transferred to the lodging option of your choice.
Arrival and Departure Details / Times
Arrival and departure times are flexible due to the close proximity to Cancun International. Keep in mind that a transfer surcharge may be assessed for late arrivals or early departures, but it is possible to arrive or depart at any hour. Upon arrival in Cancun, a representative from Fin Chasers will be waiting just outside the airport doors to greet you and direct you to your shuttle. The drive to Punta Blanca Hotel typically takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
Documents Required
All U.S. citizens are required to have a valid passport that does not expire within six months of trip dates. No visas or vaccinations are required for U.S. citizens. A Mexican departure tax is payable at the airport. Some airlines include this as a prepaid part of your ticket.

General Information
The mangrove systems and expansive flats north and west of Cancun are both beautiful and productive, and you immediately have the feeling that you are much further from the chaos and bustle of the resort zones than you actually are. The fishery is full of juvenile tarpon in the 5-25 pound range, and larger migratory tarpon can be found further to the north during the late spring and summer months on calm days. There are also good numbers of permit, snook, jacks, sheepshead, and ‘cudas in the immediate area, as well as the occasional bonefish. While there are not as many bonefish as what can be found further to the south in Ascension Bay, the bones in this area can be impressively large. This is a fantastic fishery for the overall diversity of species and as well as the diversity of angling scenarios. The Fin Chasers guide staff is formed of very experienced English-speaking guides who know the area like the backs of their hands, as they have guided these waters for many years.
Boats and Equipment
Fin Chasers can provide anglers some flies upon request, but anglers should bring their own fly patterns and all terminal tackle. Contact Yellow Dog for specific fly recommendations.
Fin Chasers utilizes four, brand-new 23-foot Pangas powered with new 50 HP Yamahas engines. These boats are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with spacious casting decks and poling platforms for the guides. Yellow Dog will provide you with a complete gear and equipment list prior to your departure.
Package Rates
Remember that Yellow Dog’s services are completely free! When you book a trip with Yellow Dog, you never pay more than when you book directly with a lodge or outfitter. Accommodations and trip itineraries are customizable, so please call Yellow Dog for details and rates.

FIN CHASERS TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CANCELLATIONS
Receipt of deposit and/or final payment is acknowledgment that registrant has read and accepts the deposit, cancellation, refund and responsibility clauses for these packages. A non-refundable deposit of 50% per person is due at the time of booking for all trip packages and reservations, and final payment if due 90 days prior to arrival. All trip cancellations must be received in writing, sent to Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures, LLC. For cancellations outside of 60 days from the start of trip, a refund or trip credit will be granted minus 10% of the package cost charged by the outfitter. For cancellations 60 to 30 days from start of trip date, a refund or trip credit will be granted minus 50% of the package cost charged by the outfitter. For cancellations inside of 30 days from arrival date, deposits and final payments will be forfeited, and no credit will be issued. No refund will be made for unused package portions. If a cancelled package is resold by either the lodge or by Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures, then a full refund will be sent minus a $100.00 per person cancellation fee charged by Yellow Dog Flyfishing. No refunds will apply for weather-related incidents or hurricanes, which is why Yellow Dog Flyfishing strongly recommends that anglers and guests purchase travel insurance for your trip. If you don’t arrive on your confirmed arrival date (for example, if you miss your flight) but still plan to get to the lodge, inform Yellow Dog of your new arrival date. You will still be charged for the original vacation booking and are entitled to the remaining nights in the reservation. If you add extra nights to your original booking, they will be considered a new booking, and standard rates and conditions apply.
Payment Terms for All Yellow Dog Trip Bookings
Unless otherwise noted on your invoice, for all trips less than 90 days out, full payment is required after receipt of the confirmation email to secure guides and reservations. For trips outside of 90 days, a 50% deposit is required upon receipt of confirmation email to confirm your reservations.
