Fishing Trip Rule #742 - Every angler must have four rods on hand, even if they are just headed down the street for carp. Additionally, each rod must be matched with a reel and a spare spool, which must also be available at all times. Finally, the angler must have a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, a bag of chips, and a chocolate chip cookie within close reach, because it's lunch time. How many cases do you really want to carry for all that stuff? Let's make it easy on you...just one, the Dakota Carry-On Rod & Reel [and snack] Case.
The bag is as advertised and is even sturdier than I hoped. All of my 9 ft 4-Piece rods fit. However it does not fit longer 4 piece rods
I purchased this for a dream trip to the Bahamas. I was able to easily put 4 fly rods inside, with their "sock" covers. 7, 8, 9 and 12wt. I also had 4 reels, plus two extra spools. Plenty of room for small fly boxes, leaders, etc so the most important "stuff" for your trip is with you the whole time. No problems at security, or on flights.
Purchased this rod case for a trip to Belize where I needed to bring a 8,9,10,11 and 12 weight rods. 5 rods and the sleeves fit well in the case and probably 6 would fit. Maybe more if you’re bringing smaller rods. I also fit 7 reels.
