This is the preferred setup for fly fishing for permit in and around Chetumal Bay in Mexico by permit fanatic and The Xflats owner, Jesse Colten. Jesse prefers to over line his permit rod by using a 10 weight SA Grand Slam. Over-lining your rod can be incredibly beneficial. The added weight causes your rod to bend more, allowing you to load the rod and cast your fly with less line.
