Conditions Gorgeous weather heading into the weekend with some clouds and precipitation possible. The river is still on the rise and you can expect dirty water below the West Fork. Fishing can still be good with streamers and large nymphs. Dry fly action has picked up again later in the day. The afternoon has provided the most productive fishing.

Current and Upcoming Hatches Bug life will keep improving as we get further into Spring. Stonefly nymphs, mayfly nymphs, caddis and worms are available to fish sub-surface during the early Spring months. PMD's and midges can be found hatching around late morning into the afternoon daily. On calm, cloudy days, fish have been consistently rising to adult Caddis or PMD's in tailouts or small eddies. The dry fly action is usually best around $3 Bridge.

Sallies and Salmonflies are likely only a few weeks away with the recent hot weather. Stock up on the big bugs before they sell out!

Tactics and Tips Nymphing has been the most consistent fishing method. A mayfly nymph fished with a perdigon or a PMD nymph has been quite successful. Stonefly nymphs and worms will also be great options for anglers looking to fish larger patterns. These flies will be very successful when the river is off color. Set this double nymph rig to 4 or 5 feet under your indicator with a split shot about 1 foot above the first fly. Dry fly fishing has slowed down a little bit but can still be effective in some areas. A 9' 5x leader with a size #16 PMD dry fly or a size #16 Caddis dry and a drag free drift should trick rising trout. Streamer fishing has just been OK. Smaller flies have found the most success.
