The Trout-Mecca of the Lower 48
Located in Twin Bridges, Montana, Four Rivers Fishing Company is one of the oldest full-service fly fishing operations in the area. With five of Montana’s most famous rivers located within a 40-mile radius of Twin Bridges, this is truly the “trout Mecca” of the lower-48. Four Rivers is licensed to outfit on every watershed in the region, and on a daily basis guides the Big Hole, Beaverhead, Madison, Jefferson, and Ruby Rivers. Four Rivers claims to have one of the best guide staffs in the region, and their combined number of seasons attests to that. To complement their outfitting offerings, Four Rivers’ lodging program is extremely flexible and varied. They also offer their clients numerous dining options, including various steak houses and restaurants in and close to town (a fun alternative and complement to the typical “lodge-style” meal program). Collectively, Four Rivers offers a great fishing and lodging package with some of the best prices found anywhere in the Northern Rockies.

General Information
Twin Bridges is a small ranching community surrounded by some of the finest trout water in the Rockies. This area is known by many as the epicenter of the greatest trout fishing in Montana. Four Rivers has access to roughly 300+ miles of world-class trout waters, something that allows the guides and clients to spread out and fish uncrowded and productive waters.
The location of Four Rivers is key, as the operation is located in one of Montana’s largest but least populated valleys. The immediate area is home to the Big Hole, Beaverhead, and Ruby River, all flowing north within a half-mile from the shop to form the Jefferson River. There is a good reason that Twin Bridges holds such a special place in the hearts of so many western fly fishermen. With the Madison River forty minutes away, the Beaverhead flowing through town, and the Big Hole a short 3-minute drive from the shop, the biggest challenge on a daily basis is deciding where to fish. Over the course of several days of guided fishing, you could end up going north one day, south the next, then east or west after that.
Boats and Equipment Required
Most fishing in this area is done using a drift boat. At certain times, the shop also utilizes two-man Scadden-style pontoon boats to access waters that are smaller, skinnier, and “off the beaten path.” Boats are typically used for both fishing and transportation, and many rivers offer great opportunities for anglers that want to get out of the boat and wade. Four Rivers is a fully-stocked, full-service fly shop, featuring many of the top brands in the industry. They are also a full dealer for Twin Bridge-based Winston Fly Rods. All flies, leaders, terminal tackle, and more can be purchased upon arrival at the shop.

Yellow Dog Customer Reviews
“This was awesome. My wife and I aren’t the types of folks who like to be catered to the moment we get out of bed. We don’t need lunchtime tablecloths and five-star dinners. And we don’t like being “lifted up” to where we feel like we’re being intentionally separated from the guides and staff. We like being immersed in the area we’re staying in, making friends with the guides, keeping a really relaxed schedule, and fishing hard. That’s Four Rivers Fishing Co. to a freaking T. We’ll definitely be back.” – Brandon H.
