North Fork Crossing Lodge

Trip Overview
The North Fork Crossing Lodge, owned and operated by PRO Outfitters, sits on the bank of the North Fork of the Blackfoot River. They are the only full-service fishing lodge in the famed Blackfoot Valley. Their unique tent cabins are designed for the ultimate comforts of a full-service lodge without losing the intimate connection to nature that camping can provide. Each canvas tent cabin comes equipped with heat, electricity, wood floors, and a private bathhouse with all the amenities of home located a short walk down a lighted path behind the tents. The Blackfoot River boasts large populations of native Westslope cutthroat trout through years of collaborative efforts toward restoration of the Blackfoot River as a fishery that keeps getting better and better. From the lodge, you have access to several other rivers and unlimited walk and wade access to both private and public waters. If you want to test your skill on the mighty Missouri, it is only an hour and a half away.

Breakfast and dinner are served in their main lodge building which also has a social seating area with an open self-serve bar with wine and beer. Guests are also free to enjoy themselves around an adjacent fire pit next to a stocked pond.

A touch of class, in a unique setting, brings you to the tables of accomplished chefs at the North Fork Crossing Lodge. You’ll be treated to culinary enjoyment that celebrates Montana. Fresh, organic, and locally grown herbs and produce complement every entrée. Careful consideration is given to menu planning, and any dietary requests are easy to accommodate.

Non-Angling Activities and Options
While the lodge property does not present non-angling activities, motivated guests can find many outdoor activity opportunities throughout the surrounding area. The town of Missoula is also only an hour away and offers great non-angling options. A trip to Missoula and a visit to the Montana Museum of Art and Culture or the Montana Natural History Center are great for those interested in history and culture. Tours of the many breweries and wineries may interest some, as well as hiking, mountain biking, and river rafting trips. Festivals and fairs are held throughout the seasons, along with farmers’ markets and concerts.

Internet / Communications
Cell phone service is unreliable on the lodge property and while out on the river. The lodge does have wireless internet.

How to Get There
Guests should plan to fly into and out of Missoula (MSO) which is about an hour away. They can then either rent a car, or a shuttle can be arranged for an additional cost.

Documents Required
Montana fishing licenses should be bought before arrival at the lodge. They can be purchased in Missoula at most fly shops, sporting goods stores, etc. They can also be purchased online before the trip.

General Overview
The majority of the fishing is done on the Blackfoot, North Fork of the Blackfoot, and the Upper Clark Fork – condition dependent. Between these rivers, there are hundreds of miles to fish. However, the gem of the valley is the Blackfoot River and flows through breathtaking forests, canyons, and open valleys. Each section offers anglers different views and angling opportunities. The Blackfoot River boasts large populations of native Westslope cutthroat trout through years of collaborative efforts toward restoration of the Blackfoot River as a fishery that keeps getting better and better. From the lodge, you have access to several other rivers and unlimited walk and wade access to both private and public waters. Boats and Equipment
When floating, the majority of the fishing is done from rafts. Guides also furnish their anglers with everything they may need – rods/reels, flies, tackle, etc.

Remember that Yellow Dog’s services are completely free! When you book a trip with Yellow Dog, you never pay more than when you book directly with the lodge.

North Fork Crossing (Ovando, Montana)
TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CANCELLATIONS
A deposit of 50% per person is due at the time of booking for all trip packages and reservations, and final payment if due 90 days prior to arrival. All trip cancellations must be received in writing, sent to Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures, LLC. For all cancellations outside of 180 days of scheduled arrival date, a full deposit refund or a trip credit minus a 7.5% processing fee will be issued. For cancellations180 - 90 days prior to the arrival date, a full deposit refund or a trip credit minus a 25% processing fee will be issued. For cancellations within 90 days to the arrival date, deposits and final payments will be forfeited, and no refund or credit will be issued unless the cancelled package is resold by either the lodge or by Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures. For intact groups booking the full property (14+ guests), trip deposit and final payment are non-refundable. Parties who arrive with fewer guests than are actually booked will be charged for the number of guests booked at time of reservation, and no adjustments will be made for late arrivals or early departures. Receipt of deposit and/or final payment is acknowledgment that registrant has read and accepts the deposit, cancellation, refund and responsibility clauses for these packages. Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures strongly recommends that anglers and guests purchase travel insurance for this trip.

Payment Terms for All Yellow Dog Trip Bookings  
Unless otherwise noted on your invoice, for all trips less than 90 days out, full payment is required after receipt of the confirmation email to secure guides and reservations. For trips outside of 90 days, a 50% deposit is required upon receipt of confirmation email to confirm your reservations.
