Palometa Belize Liveaboard

Trip Overview
An exciting new program from Yellow Dog Ambassador Wil Flack and the Belize Permit Club, Palometa Belize is a limited-availability liveaboard experience allowing anglers to strategically target the most productive flats throughout the region year-round. Built for hardcore permit anglers, the liveaboard platform also opens the door to shots at all major Grand Slam species. The result is one of the most unique programs in Belize, giving anglers access to remote, rarely-fished flats as well as the country’s classic and well-known fisheries.

Lodging Details 
The liveaboard vessel features four expertly appointed private guest cabins with queen beds, air conditioning, bathrooms, and plenty of space to relax onboard.  

Food and Beverages 
Meals are freshly prepared each day. Breakfast is served on the liveaboard and rotates between traditional breakfast offerings including healthy portions of eggs, pancakes, meats, and fresh fruit. Lunches are usually taken on the pangas each day, featuring a mix of sandwiches, wraps, and other dishes to be consumed out on the water. Dinner is served each evening after a post-fishing cocktail hour. The menu combines traditional Belizean flavors and American classics with fresh caught seafood and expertly prepared main courses. 

There is a fully stocked bar on the boat, but if any particular alcohol is desired, it is best to purchase that at the duty-free stores on arrival.   

Typical Length of Stay 
A standard week is 7 nights and 6 days fishing, with 8 night and 7 day fishing packages available on select weeks.

Non-Angling Activities and Options 
Palometa Belize is squarely focused on the exciting fishing opportunities that the mothership platform provides. Some snorkeling can be done depending on mooring location. There are paddleboards on the boat for guests to use.

How to Get There 
International flights to Belize City’s Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) go through Miami, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Denver, Newark, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Charlotte. The major airlines that are currently servicing and will be flying to Belize in the immediate future are American Airlines, United, Delta, Southwest, and Alaska Airlines. 

Arrival and Departure Details / Times 
It is best to arrive into the Belize City’s Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) before 2:00 PM. A short car transfer will take you to the marina to board the boat.

Documents Required 
All U.S. citizens are required to have a valid passport that does not expire within six (6) months of trip dates. Please be sure that your passport has at least two blank, unstamped pages remaining in the back, and that it is not torn, delaminated, or damaged in any way.  Citizens of the U.S., the British Commonwealth, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, and the European Community are NOT required to have Visas. 

Minors Traveling To Belize Without Both Parents 
If you are planning on traveling with minors, remember that all children 18 years of age or younger entering Belize accompanied by only one parent or legal guardian must have a NOTARIZED letter of consent from the other parent stating the child/children have his/her permission to enter the country. Single parents need a notarized documentation of divorce decree or death certificate of spouse. Minors unaccompanied by either parent require a NOTARIZED letter of consent signed by both parents.

General Information 
The Palometa Belize liveaboard program offers a completely different experience from traditional lodge-based operations. While the primary focus is chasing permit across some of the most productive flats in the Caribbean, the program remains adaptable—targeting whatever opportunities the tides, weather, and conditions create. Throughout the week, anglers can expect encounters with tarpon, bonefish, and a variety of other classic saltwater species.

Mobility and flexibility are the foundation of this program. With the ability to roam from Belize’s outer atolls to the famed barrier reef, the liveaboard platform opens access to an incredible range of remote and lightly pressured water that few anglers ever see. 

Boats and Equipment 
Palometa Belize operates from custom-built, ultra-light 23-foot pangas—ideal boats for both poling shallow flats and comfortably running longer distances over open water. Each skiff is purpose-designed for fly anglers, featuring elevated poling platforms, spacious casting decks, lean bars, and clean, uncluttered interiors.

Loaner rods and reels are available with advance notice, though anglers are encouraged to bring the gear they know and trust. Flies, leaders, tippet, and other terminal tackle can also be provided as needed. 

Package Rates
When you book a trip with Yellow Dog, you never pay more than when you book directly with the lodge or outfitter. Yellow Dog’s services are completely free! All prices listed below are per person and quoted in US dollars.

Rate: $7,995 per person based on 4 people in the boat for a seven (7) nights, six (6) days fishing package. 

$8,995 per person based on 4 people in the boat for a eight (8) nights, seven (7) days fishing package.

What’s Included:

• The number of nights lodging as specified in your package 
• Daily guided fishing as specified 
• 9% hotel tax and 12.5% sales tax 
• Three meals per day 
• Local Belizean beverages (beer, alcohol, and soda) 
• Transfers to Olde Belize Marina from Belize City International airport 
• Marine park entry fees 
• Loaner equipment, flies, and terminal tackle 

What’s Not Included:

• International flights to and from Belize City 
• Belizean fishing license (can be purchased at the lodge) 
• Gratuities for guides and staff 
• Nondomestic beverages – specialty alcohol (BYOB)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CANCELLATIONS 
Full payment is required to hold date(s). Due to the logistical and planning intricacy of the Palometa Belize opearation, full payment is due at the the time of booking. 

Liveaboard trips are non-refundable, non-transferable and trip insurance is required. 

Payment Terms for All Yellow Dog Trip Bookings  
Unless otherwise noted on your invoice, for all trips less than 90 days out, full payment is required after receipt of the confirmation email to secure guides and reservations. For trips outside of 90 days, a 50% deposit is required upon receipt of confirmation email to confirm your reservations.
