Lodging Details
Marvista is a rustic fisherman’s paradise located on a secluded cove on the Pacific Coast of the Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica's Blue Zone. A two-story private beach house surrounded by cliffs and an estuar, it is situated just steps from the shoreline with ocean breeze blowing throughout the house and serves as your home base. The house has 4 bedrooms upstairs complete with 1 queen bedroom, and 2 twin beds (which can be pushed together for couples) in each of the other three rooms, 2 baths and an additional outdoor shower. Many compare our house to the Swiss Family Robinson house! Meals will be served on our beautiful driftwood dining table underneath the house and on the sand. You simply cannot get closer to the ocean anywhere in the country! For those looking for a more luxurious stay, w e also have an alternative lod ging option on the hills up behind Marvista, though the drive is about 15 minutes away. Villa la Ventana is protected by a secure gated entry, accessible by a 4 km scenic drive up in the mountains. It's perfect for 3 couples or a large family. The main house has two master suites with large baths, one up & one down and a twin bed in the TV room with a full bath. The living area opens to a Lake Como style veranda that looks down on a beautiful cove and also has spectacular mountain views as does the open area covered dining area. The large pool is set between the main house and the casita. The casita has identical views and is complete with sitting area, kitchenette and small bath.

Food and Beverage   
All meals can be included or we can arrange a number of "flex meals" so that guests may venture out amongst our favorite local restaurants! All meals that we provide will be authentic Costa Rican recipes using locally sourced ingredients served family-style. Their are many restaurants within 20 minutes of Marvista in both Nosara and Samara. Any flex meals or snacks outside of the pre-planned itinerary will be at the expense of the guest. On fishing days we can keep certain species to harvest like fresh yellowfin tuna or snapper. Anything kept will be limited as we otherwise practice catch and release. During transport we will stop at local restaurants along the way that are hidden gems and incredible food! Water, fresh fruit juices, and sodas will be included daily as well as some hors d'oeuvres throughout the trip. Alcohol is not included but can be purchased on site or sourced ahead of time upon guest request. Usually we can accommodate to specific requests with enough advance notice but otherwise can be limited on some specific liquors. 

Typical Length of Stay
All 4Corners trips are customized to the desires of the guest, so the average stay can vary depending on the type of trip requested. Trips to Flamingo typically range from 5-7 days.

Non-Angling Activities
Costa Rica is an outdoorsman's paradise! There are many activities available in the immediate area like SUP, kayaking, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking, waterfalls, wildlife tours, birding, whitewater rafting, ziplines, ATV, beach horseback riding, hot springs, spa days, rodeos, soccer games, and much more! We usually include the non-angling activities or flex days into the itinerary to be able to choose between many experiences so that our guests get to focus on the experience of Costa Rica as well as great fishing.

Internet / Communications
The home is outfitted with Starlink. We suggest guests have WhatsApp downloaded to their phones for free international calling and messaging.

How to Get There 
If guests are only visiting the Marvista area, we suggest flying into Liberia International Airport (LIR) where they will be received upon exiting the airport. The transfer to Marvista is about 1hour 45 minutes. If looking to do a multi-location trip, we recommend flying into San Jose. Depending on time of arrival or trip itinerary, we will suggest whether or not to make the same day travel to Marvista. By car it is about 4 hours from San Jose but there is also a domestic flight option which is only about 35-minutes plus a 30-minute transfer to Marvista. All transport from the moment of arrival until when guests are dropped back off at the airport at the end of the trip is arranged and taken care of by the 4Corners team, allowing you the luxury of enjoying your travel rather than stressing about it! Travel may involve drives or boat transfers based on lodge selection or itinerary

Arrival and Departure Details / Times
Guests typically arrive as early in the morning as possible up to around midday in order to start their expedition. Itineraries are flexible to accommodate group arrival times. Departure flights from Liberia and San Jose are typically between 10am - 2:30pm. We usually recommend flying out as late as possible which allows time for a relaxed morning the day of departure. It is recommended guests arrive to the airport 2 hours before international departure.

Documents Required
A valid passport is required for all visitors to Costa Rica and must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond the duration of your stay. A departure ticket (within 180 days of arrival) must be shown upon arrival to customs.

General Information
The Marvista area offers one of the most biodiverse saltwater fisheries in Costa Rica, with an incredible variety of species both inshore and offshore. There are anywhere from 50–100 different targets on the fly, ranging from roosterfish, trevally, cubera snapper, grouper, snook, and jacks inshore, to blue, black, and striped marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, mahi-mahi, and wahoo offshore. Seasonal highlights also include barracuda and amberjack. The dry season (December through May) is generally considered the best window for fishing, though opportunities exist year-round, with windier conditions in late September and October often mitigated by the area’s protective coves and island structure. Success here requires anglers to be accurate, quick with presentations, and committed to working closely with guides—many of whom emphasize authentic conservation practices such as catch-and-release and stewardship of the fishery.

Inshore Species: Roosterfish, bluefin and golden trevally, cubera snapper, grouper, snook, corvina, mackerall, jack crevalle, and more.

Offshore Species: Blue/Black/Striped marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, mahi, and wahoo.

Boats and Equipment
Fishing in Marvista is conducted from 31' Bertrams and center-console pangas—boats designed for both offshore bluewater runs and inshore exploration. Across Costa Rica, 4Corners programs also utilize a range of vessels from pangas and island hoppers to rafts, each chosen for the environment being fished. Guests are encouraged to bring their own fly rods, reels, flies, and terminal tackle, while conventional gear and tackle can be provided by 4Corners upon request.

Package Rates
Remember that Yellow Dog’s services are completely free! When you book a trip with Yellow Dog, you never pay more than when you book directly with the lodge or outfitter.

Rates: Rates typically range from $4,500 - $8,000 per angler depending on the details of the custom itinerary, how many fishing days, and alternative activities or travels.

ALL guests will be required to sign a liability waiver release form at time of booking.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CANCELLATIONS:
A non-refundable deposit of 50% per guest is due at the time of booking, with the final
payment due 90 days prior to arrival. Please note that for all itineraries booked with 4Corners Costa Rica, both deposits and final payments are non-refundable. We highly recommend the purchase of trip cancellation insurance through a trusted travel partner like Global Rescue. In no event will 4Corners Costa Rica be responsible for any cancellation of services or operations due to inclement weather, airline delays or flight cancellations, or any other reason beyond the control of 4Corners. Though we can assist with last minute logistics, if your flights are canceled and/or connections are missed, 4Corners Costa Rica is not responsible for alternative travel arrangements or expenses including flights, hotels, meals or any other costs incurred. If a canceled package is resold for the same itinerary, a full refund will be issued minus a $100 per person cancellation fee. Deposits and final payments may be transferred to another guest for the same dates if arranged by the client. Rates and dates for reservations booked over a year in advance are subject to change. Any cancellations need to be made to 4Corners Costa Rica in writing via email. Verbal communication or text messages will not be acceptable forms of communication for cancellations. If a guest fails to join an expedition, joins after departure, or leaves prior to completion, no reimbursement will be made and any alternative arrangements and expenses are the responsibility of the guest. Receipt of deposit and/or final payment is acknowledgment that guest has read and accepts the deposit, cancellation, refund and responsibility clauses for 4Corners Costa Rica.

Payment Terms for All Yellow Dog Trip Bookings  
Unless otherwise noted on your invoice, for all trips less than 90 days out, full payment is required after receipt of the confirmation email to secure guides and reservations. For trips outside of 90 days, a 50% deposit is required upon receipt of confirmation email to confirm your reservations.
