The Chironocones is a conehead chironomid pattern designed for stillwater trout feeding on midge pupae. The slim profile imitates emerging chironomids naturally, while the conehead adds extra weight and a slightly more aggressive sink rate compared to traditional indicator-style chironomid flies.
The added cone also gives the fly a bit more movement during retrieves and lifts, making it effective both under an indicator and on slow hand-twist presentations.
