Description
Originally designed by Michigan guide Russ Maddin, the Circus Peanut is one of the most influential articulated streamers ever created and helped shape the modern world of big-fly trout fishing. Built with a jointed two-hook platform, flowing marabou, rubber legs, and heavy dumbbell eyes, the fly produces a wide erratic swimming action that mimics injured baitfish and triggers aggressive predatory responses.
The Circus Peanut also served as the inspiration behind Kelly Galloup’s famous Peanut Envy, cementing its place as a foundational modern streamer pattern.
