"Been tying variations on this one since a trip to the Missouri a few years back...needed a streamer that was a more realistic impression of a small fish, rather than a bugger type silhouette. Tried to create a fly that would have a sparser silhouette without a lot of casting bulk. Marabou and fox fur create a skeleton type body, spread wide over the non traditionally placed cone which adds a bit of weight but is more to keep the materials flared around the hook for shape and volume. Fox fur head matches the real thing and has realistic eyes firmly attached. Flash is tied from the inside to flash through more subtly. Tied in rainbow and brown trout versions to mimic these common food sources." - Charlie Craven
