HELP BAHAMIAN ANGLERS GET BACK TO BUSINESS

It's no secret Joaquin wreaked havoc in the Bahamas. The storm devasted many islands whose names are all too familiar to saltwater anglers—San Sal, Acklins, Crooked, and Long—and many locals are still struggling to get back on their feet. Once the immediate needs of shelter and food have been taken care of, the next challenge will be restoring guides' livelihoods.

Our friend Bjorn over at Bonefish on the Brain alerted us to the Bahamas Fly Fishing Hurricane Relief Fund, intended to help members of the fly fishing industry who need help getting their businesses back up and running. You can read the full details on Bjorn's blog, but the short of it is this: funds will be collected by the Abaco Fly Fishing Guide's Association and distributed accorrdingly.

Bjorn notes amounts given will be determined based on the total amount raised, the need stated, and the principal of widest possible impact (helping as many people in a meaningful way as possible.) You can give through the AFFGA's PayPal account (link is on the left side of the page); include "Fly Fishing Hurricane Relief Fund" in the purpose.
