You will find the hotels listed below to vary in price, setting, and locations in relation to Nassau International Airport (NAS). All these options have single and double occupancy rooms, as well as dining options. We are always available to discuss any of them in more detail. The web links will provide thorough insight on each option.
CABLE BEACH AREA ON NEW PROVINCE ISLAND (NASSAU) - Close to the airport ($40 taxi), with shopping, a casino, restaurants and bars, pools, and nice beaches. This is a large-scale resort. • Wyndham Nassau Resort - $180 - $250
ORANGE HILL RESORT - Closest to the airport on a hill overlooking the ocean ($20 taxi). While the most reasonable it is a two- to three-star level of hotel. The restaurant and bar is pretty good. The pool is okay for swimming, the beach is a short walk down a hill (driveway), and the service is satisfactory. • Rooms are in the $150 range
OCEAN WEST BOUTIQUE HOTEL – Ten minutes from the airport, this new ten-room accommodation is perfect for those seeking “a little more” from their brief Nassau layover. • Single and double rooms rates vary between $215 and $600
A STONE’S THROW AWAY – Close to the airport ($20 taxi) and an upscale B & B with a small bar and nice restaurant. Also, a close walk to a nice beach and they can arrange for numerous activities and tours. This is a plantation-style multi-level building with fine amenities. • Rooms range between $200 and $290 per night
ATLANTIS RESORT ON PARADISE ISLAND – This is a high-end option for Nassau that is very touristy, but offers numerous fun activities for families and couples. They have the world's largest outdoor aquarium that is a sight to see — there are huge bonefish, permit and tarpon in the aquarium! One of the water slides goes through the shark tank.
Atlantis has a huge casino, great beaches, tons of shopping, tons of organized activities, as well as numerous restaurants and bars. The resort is 45 minutes from the airport on Paradise Island, which is around a $80 taxi ride. • Beach Tower rooms are $515.00 plus taxes • 1 king or 2 double beds • Cove Atlantis (cheapest room: $795) or the Reef Atlantis (cheapest room: $579) When staying closer to the airport, the “Fish Fry” is a fun spot for the drinks and dinner.
It is the locals spot for conch salad, cold beverages and fresh seafood, but not the fastest for service. Also, the Travel’s Rest Restaurant and Bar is a fine option for staying closer to the airport, and is very good for local cuisine and atmosphere. Any taxi can transfer you to and from these locations. If you have an early flight, be sure to book a taxi the night before, and have a phone number for that taxi driver!
