This is a large-scale operation that can easily be compared to the large resorts of Hawaii or Mexico, but with much better fishing! Each of Pelican Bay Resort’s 97 guest rooms features private balconies overlooking a courtyard, the marina, and the Port Lucaya Marketplace. These spacious accommodations include king-sized or double beds, satellite TV, direct-dial phones, Italian tiled floors, coffee service, and a refrigerator. Pelican Bay’s single bedroom suites are also available for couples looking for an extra-luxurious “Stay at the Bay.” Newspapers and freshly baked croissants and bread are delivered to the suites each morning, and personal espresso machines and a variety of coffees enable guests to enjoy a private breakfast on the balcony while taking in the beautiful Bell Channel Bay. Other guest amenities include two tropical freshwater pools, a hot tub, a great poolside bar, a business center, Wi-Fi, and direct access to all of the activities that Freeport has to offer.
Food and Beverages
Being centrally located and directly adjacent to the Lucayan Marketplace and Count Bassie Square, guests have access to numerous restaurants, meaning that you can enjoy dinner each night at a different establishment and enjoy different menus and offerings. Breakfast each morning is served buffet-style in Pelican Bay’s new conference center. Open early, you can satiate your appetite with standard breakfast offerings, such as pastries, coffees, and eggs cooked to order before meeting your guides for the day. A packed cooler lunch with all beverages is loaded into the boat each day for your day on the water.
Typical Length of Stay
Trips of any length are available, and the convenience of traveling to Grand Bahama makes staying at Pelican Bay Resort and fishing with H2O Bonefishing the perfect getaway for a week-long fishing trip or a quick weekend escape. This is also a great add-on for business and family trips to Nassau and New Providence. Flights to Freeport’s Grand Bahama International Airport (FPO) arrive and depart on all days of the week from numerous cities throughout the U.S.
Non-Angling Activities and Options
Non-angling activities at Pelican Bay Resort include golfing at two USGA-certified 18-hole championship golf courses, diving, snorkel trips, glass-bottomed boat tours, eco-tours, parasailing, sea kayaking, and a host of other water-related options for all age groups. For those interested in island nightlife, there are numerous fine restaurants, bars, and nightly dancing. There is also plenty of shopping throughout the area.

How To Get There
Grand Bahama is the easiest flats fishing destination to reach in the Bahamas, due to the numerous direct daily flights from Miami, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Atlanta, and several other U.S. cities to Freeport’s Grand Bahama International Airport (FPO). You can arrive and depart on any day of the week.
Arrival and Departure Details / Times
There are several car rental companies in Freeport and taxi service is readily available at the airport. There are also plenty of taxis in the area. Upon arrival, you can take a cab the short distance to Pelican Bay Resort. Once at the Resort, you can pretty much walk everywhere in the Freeport area.
Documents Required
All U.S. citizens are required to have a valid passport that does not expire within six (6) months of trip dates. Please be sure that your passport has at least two blanks, unstamped pages remaining in the back, and that it is not torn, delaminated, or damaged in any way.

General Information
The island of Grand Bahama stretches 90 miles east to west, and the north shore’s vast area of creeks, cays, and flats create hundreds of miles of shallow, untouched, fishable shoreline. The bottom structure varies from hard sand and grass flats to harder, light coral and marl flats, providing excellent feeding habitats for bonefish and permit.
The experienced, seasoned guides of H2O Bonefishing are dedicated to making your fishing adventure both productive and enjoyable and will tailor each fishing day to your schedule and individual preferences. All of these guides have chosen to guide as their year-round profession (not just a seasonal job) and rank among the finest on the island. Anglers can take advantage of the thousands of hours these guys have spent on the area’s flats and may request all kinds of directions and instruction. For anglers new to saltwater flats fishing, this is not only a wonderful place to learn but is a destination that guarantees action your very first time out!
While fishing with H2O Bonefishing, a large part of each fishing day is spent casting from Maverick Mirage flats boats. Anglers are also encouraged to wade during times when large concentrations of fish are found tailing in skinny waters. The bonefish vary greatly in size, from small, two to three-pound fish found in large, easy schools, to larger Grand Bahamas bonefish in the four to six-pound range. Fish of seven and eight pounds are almost a daily encounter, and trophy-sized bones over ten pounds are not uncommon. H2O’s record bonefish to date is a remarkable fish of 14.5 pounds.
Although this area is primarily a world-class bonefishing destination, several other types of gamefish frequent these waters. Permit and tarpon arrive during the spring and are regularly encountered throughout the fall. Large barracuda can be found almost daily, and there is always the possibility of running into roaming schools of hard-fighting horse-eyed jacks that average 10 to 15 pounds.

Boats and Equipment Required
H2O Bonefishing uses 16-foot Maverick flats boat with new Yamaha 90HP outboards, poling platforms, and spacious casting decks. They are roomy, fast, and comfortable. As with all of our Bahamian operations, it is recommended that anglers bring their own gear and equipment, including rods, reels, wading boots, flies, and all terminal tackle.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CANCELLATIONS
For all cancellations, written notice must be sent to and received by Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures, LLC. For cancellations outside of 90 days from beginning of the trip, full amount minus a $100.00 processing fee per guest charged by the outfitter and a $100.00 processing fee per guest charged by Yellow Dog may be refunded or a full credit applied to a future trip booked within one year. This decision will be made by the outfitter. Cancellations 61 to 89 days prior to start of trip = 50% refund or trip credit of payment amount minus a $100.00 processing fee per guest charged by the outfitter and a $100.00 processing fee per guest charged by Yellow Dog. No refund or credit will be given for trips cancelled inside of 60 days from start of trip, regardless of reason. If a cancelled package is resold by either the outfitter or by Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures, then a full refund will be sent minus a $100.00 processing fee per guest charged by the outfitter (in addition to a $100.00 per person cancellation fee charged by Yellow Dog Flyfishing.) H2O and Yellow Dog strongly recommend that anglers and guests purchase travel insurance for your trip. H2O will not refund payments in the event of a hurricane or poor weather. Receipt of deposit and/or final payment is acknowledgment that registrant has read and accepts the deposit, cancellation, refund and responsibility clauses for these packages.
Payment Terms For All Yellow Dog Trip Bookings
In order to lock in your trip reservation, we ask that you please remit payment at the time of receipt of invoice. For your convenience, Yellow Dog accepts on-line payments via a direct and secure ACH platform – a quick and easy way to complete your trip reservation. Note that all Yellow Dog invoices include a live link that takes you directly to the Yellow Dog ACH platform for fast and easy payment. For open and existing invoices with a remaining balance, payment reminders also include this easy link to the ACH page.
Other customary forms of payment that are accepted are checks or wire transfers. If you would like to pay in a different way or have any questions about alternate payment methods, please contact Yellow Dog at (888) 777-5060 or (406) 585-8667. We are available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Beginning September 1st, 2020, Yellow Dog will apply a 3% convenience fee for all credit card transactions.
